When you ask how SmithCo’s growth has supported our customers for 30 years, that’s the main kicker: what the trailer can do. Customers tell me all the time that versatility is the deciding factor when it comes to comparing side dumps to other dump trailers. While some tasks are comparable, there’s other things end dumps and belly dumps just can’t do. Side dumps, on the other hand, can haul anything and dump anywhere. Operators don’t have to worry about wind or uneven ground. We tell people, whatever you put in, it’ll come out of a side dump. This is what continuous improvement can look like. During WWII, my grandpa was stationed in the South Pacific. He didn’t hold a fancy title or formal education, but he was a quiet thinker and a do-er. The guys in his company had been doing laundry piece-by-piece. Grandpa took the drive shafts out of non-functioning jeeps, tied them together in a long string, and fixed them to an engine. He mounted 50-gallon barrels along them with paddles affixed… and voila-- Washing machines. A couple of relevant lessons here: *If something is taking too long or taking too much effort …. There is room for improvement. *Often those closest to the work know best how to improve it. #continuousimprovement

Don’t give up on those deals that take forever to happen. It seems daunting. Initial Quoting Small sample 50 lb. sample 1500 lb. sample 40,000 lb. trial truckload 4 truckloads per month program ✅ This process could take 3-6 months. The process doesn’t always progress. The process requires A TON of follow up. The process requires patience. The process is the process. Trust the process ~ as Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott preaches. We just had this process come to completion on a project we’ve been working on for 3 months. Lesson: stick with it and have lots of irons in the fire. Some will make it to the end, some won’t. #longgame
