Attention to all overseas General Practitioners, particularly those from the UK! There seems to be a common misconception surrounding "GP" jobs in the UAE. It's essential to clarify that the term "GP" in the UAE is used for SHOs and is not equivalent to the role of a General Practitioner in countries like the UK, Canada, or Australia. In the UAE, Western board GPs are known as Family Medicine Consultants, and job opportunities for them are scarce. Many advertised positions by licensing agencies may not align with your expectations, as they often aim to entice you into applying for licenses at exorbitant costs. It's crucial to understand that GPs in the UAE primarily handle common primary care conditions and facilitate onward referrals. They are typically hired at lower costs and serve as an alternative to employing a Family Medicine Doctor for many clinics. Be cautious of misleading job advertisements by licensing agencies that may not be directly involved in recruitment processes. Stay informed and vigilant against offers that may not match your qualifications and experience. #Healthcare #GeneralPractice #UAEJobs

#العطاء_و_الترسيات_في_الأجهزة_الطبية_(#المناقصات) When #applying_for_awards_and_tenders for #medical_devices, #المهندس_عبدالله_عبدالرحمن several documents are typically required. Product Specifications: Detailed specifications of the medical device being offered, including technical features, dimensions, materials, and any certifications. Quality Certificates: Certificates demonstrating compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations, such as #ISO certifications or #FDA approval. Price Quotations: Clear and transparent pricing information, including unit prices, discounts, and any additional costs such as shipping or installation fees. Announcement of Tender: The hospital issues a tender or request for proposals (#RFP) specifying its requirements and inviting bids from eligible suppliers or manufacturers. Submission of Bids: Companies interested in supplying the medical device submit their bids, including all required documents and pricing information, within the specified deadline. Evaluation of Bids: A committee or evaluation team appointed by the hospital reviews the submitted bids, assessing factors such as compliance with specifications, quality, pricing, and company reputation. A loaded question was asked in a networking coffee event, “Why Medical Director position is underrated in Vietnam healthcare market?” Tried to understand the story behind this question. Usually, the Medical Director or CMO is a vital position in a hospital. If someone try to explain the senior leader’s role in one sentence: the CMO/Medical Director generates revenue, COO reduces cost, CFO manages budget and cash flow, and CEO establishes culture, trust, strategy, resource, and plans for next generation growth by collaborating, aligning, engaging and serving the team. Now go back to the question. While my friend was so excited to see a recent Medical Director P.R. post with 03 core roles: (1) Clinician of the specialty, (2) Head of Specialty, (3) Medical Director? Personally, he worried about how the Medical Director will get time to execute 03 portfolios! His mixed reaction was directed to recruitment team who might be thrilled to tag 03 roles into one deal, thinking value for CTC return, but in reality, it’s a great loss for the hospital. Where is the problem? According to philosopher Thomas Hobbes, human nature is essentially cruel and selfish, and... My friend speculates that the Medical Director will spend significant time as clinician to secure ABR, following time for the department, and lastly contribute to the medical service portfolio which is more vital than other two. He has a logic. Reply to the original question, it was an isolated case, related to internal policy of the hospital. Generally, hospital recruits Medical Director or CMO as full-time position in Vietnam. The Medical Director manages all the specialties performance, starts new clinical programs, monitors specialty-wise EBITDA, looks at market growth, develops the 05 year’s clinical strategic plan as well widens CoE programs. Notably, the Medical Director is the ‘Ambassador’ for ruling risk and saving lives in hospital. While finishing the coffee, told to my friend, “You have a good observation power. Yet, it’s an exceptional case, can’t be generalized… Just relax, and see the big picture on how the market is transformed to the next generation growth for hospitals in Vietnam.”
