These KICs are dedicated to driving systemic change in Europe and beyond, focusing on key areas such as #climatechange, #energy, #health, #food, #manufacturing, #rawmaterials, #digitalisation, #urbanmobility, #culture and #creativity. Supernovas is committed to increase the number of women in the innovation ecosystem, both entrepreneurs and investors. Last week, #Kraków hosted two significant events that reaffirmed its position as a leading hub of innovation in Poland – the Open Eyes Economy Summit and Central European Technology Forum - CETEF'24. At the latter, I had the privilage to participate in a panel discussion organized by Jarosław Bułka, where we discussed Kraków's role as a hub for innovation and startups. A heartfelt thank you to my fellow panelists Dominika Walec PhD, Slawomir Kumka, Pawel Schmidt, Boguslaw Sieczkowski 🙏 ☝ The key takeaway: The critical importance of collaboration between academia, business, and local government in fostering innovation, ensuring Kraków thrives as an innovation center for both the region and the country. Each area alone won't be able to do enough for growth in the areas we need - synergy is crucial. PS. 1st Half 2024 Recap: Cool Things We Did So Far! Hey folks! We’re beyond grateful for the amazing opportunities that have come our way and the ones we’ve actively pursued. Every day, we get to work on incredible projects that are not only fun but also impactful. Our network of brilliant minds, innovative institutions, and trailblazing innovators keeps expanding, and we couldn’t be more excited! Some Highlights: - Climate Impact VC Fund Prototype: We developed a prototype for an early stage dark green deep tech climate impact VC fund in line with Art9 of the #SFDR during the ICFA - International Climate Finance Accelerator selection process. - Biotech Venture Philanthropy: We created an innovative prototype for a #biotech venture philanthropy fund. - Open Innovation Program: Collaborated with Utah Valley University MBA to design an #OpenInnovation program for a corporation in the energy sector. - Innovation Laboratories: Designed two Open Innovation #Labs - one for Prototyping in Deep Tech and another for Nature-Based Carbon Sequestration with ARTi, ReForest Latam, and Nunatak Biotech. - Strategic Advisory Services: Began offering strategic advisory services to deep tech startups in Spain, Argentina, the US, and Uruguay, with more to come! - NewSpace Sector Study: Conducted a conceptual study for a testing facility for satellites and spacecraft. Busy Event Schedule: - #PuntaTechMeetup: Kicked off the year with this vibrant event. - ClimateHack: Contributed to an article on the ClimateTech sector in Latin America. - START Global Mentor Networking: Enjoyed networking with top mentors. - German Accelerator in BA: Delivered an inspiring talk about deep tech. - TEDxBarrioSanNicolás: JP spoke on “Engineering that Moves the World.” - Tech Week Buenos Aires: Discussed deep tech investments with SquadS Ventures, CITES, and Nucleate. - NaturaTech LAC Presentation: Joined this fantastic event by IDB Lab and partners. - UTN Buenos Aires: Spoke about AI’s role in decarbonizing the mobility sector. - Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab Uruguay: Participated in this innovative event. - Sustainability Week 2024: Took part in IDB Invest’s Sustainability Week.
