🌍 Commemorating the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery at Our Nursery Schools 🌍 On December 2nd, our nursery schools will join the global observance of the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, reflecting our commitment to teaching children about equality, human rights, and the value of freedom. At Hatching Dragons, we believe that even at a young age, children can begin to understand the importance of fairness, kindness, and standing up for what is right. Through age-appropriate stories, discussions, and activities, we’ll explore: 🤝 The concept of equality — valuing everyone’s uniqueness. 🌟 The importance of kindness and inclusion in building strong communities. 🌍 Human rights and how we can all contribute to a better world. By fostering these values, we aim to raise global citizens who are compassionate, informed, and committed to creating a just and equitable society. How do you talk to your children about equality and fairness? Let’s share ideas and inspire each other to nurture the next generation of changemakers. 💛 #HumanRights #EqualityForAll #EarlyYearsEducation #GlobalCitizenship #AbolitionOfSlavery Human Rights Watch Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance Oxfam International Anti-Slavery International Libertyhumanrights United Nations OCHA https://hubs.la/Q02-6hgF0

Children's rights and the Bible intersect in various ways, emphasizing the importance of valuing and protecting children. Here are a few key themes: 1. Value of Children: The Bible teaches that children are precious. In Matthew 19:14, Jesus welcomes children and states that the kingdom of heaven belongs to them, highlighting their inherent worth. 2. Protection and Care: Scriptures advocate for the protection of vulnerable individuals, including children. Proverbs 22:6 encourages the guidance and nurturing of children in a way that shapes their character positively. 3. Justice and Advocacy: The Bible calls for justice for the oppressed, including children. James 1:27 emphasizes caring for orphans and widows, pointing to a broader responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves. 4. Education and Growth: The importance of educating children is emphasized in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, which encourages teaching them about faith and values. These themes align with modern concepts of children's rights, emphasizing dignity, protection, and the need for nurturing environments. #childrensrights #religion #bible #childprotection #advocacy

Today, on World Children’s Day, I reflect on the privilege of working with so many young voices over the years—ensuring their rights are upheld and their best interests safeguarded. While we celebrate the progress made globally and locally in advancing children’s rights, we must not forget the countless children whose rights remain unmet. -Children living in war zones. -Children in countries where outdated and harmful laws persist; such as laws permitting child marriages and inadequate rape laws. -Children trapped in poverty, unable to access basic necessities, let alone the full spectrum of rights outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Every child deserves protection, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive, irrespective of their circumstances. Children’s rights are human rights

"A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Louisiana law that requires the Ten Commandments be posted in every public school classroom. The issue is that faith groups in the state are divided. However, as NPR's Jason DeRose reports, many of those same faith groups are pledging to continue to work together on the issues they do agree on." Louisiana’s faith groups may be divided over state law, but their collaborative efforts to uplift the community show the power of shared purpose. From addressing local needs to fostering dialogue, this story highlights how unity can thrive despite differences.
