Ludwig van Beethoven brought joy to millions with his music, but his own life was plagued by misery. Deafness struck in his twenties, he suffered chronic health issues, and he died at 56, desperately bedridden and profoundly deaf. A likely culprit? Lead poisoning. Scientists who analyzed Beethoven’s hair samples obtained from a collector (note: strange and creepy hobby) found that his lead levels were 60 to 80 times higher than normal. Lead is a toxic metal with no safe threshold—causing brain damage, heart conditions, and kidney issues What it does to the brains and bodies of growing children is especially horrific. Unlike Beethoven, most of us in the western world don’t face the threat of lead poisoning. Mainly due to strong regulations that have expelled lead from everyday items like paints and household items. Not so much in many other parts of the world. 1 in 3 children are estimated to be exposed to dangerous lead levels. 1.5 million deaths globally in 2021 were linked to lead poisoning. Removing lead from paints is one of the simplest, most scalable solutions. Non-leaded paints are easy to make, but we need: Awareness—more people must know the dangers. Policy change—over 100 countries lack lead paint regulations. Assistance—helping manufacturers transition to safer paints. The Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) is one of the most impactful organisations in this field. In a short time, they have achieved incredible success in raising awareness, driving policy change and supporting manufacturers . Given their track record and new global focus on reducing lead exposure, LEEP is expanding and hiring for multiple roles. (All remote) I’d recommend LEEP to anyone who wants to orient their lives towards tackling a clear, solvable global problem.
LEEP is hiring Program Managers and Senior Managers in multiple time zones! Click here to find out more and to apply: https://lnkd.in/eCbF-PTG The Program Managers will manage the successful delivery of our paint programs. We’re also looking for a Program Manager who will focus on industry engagement. The Senior Managers will lead and inspire a team of PMs. All these roles have huge potential for impact–please share this opportunity in your network and apply!

🚀 Behind the Scenes at Harmon Inc.: Lessons from a Production Coordinator 🚀 As a Production Coordinator at Harmon Inc., every day is a puzzle. From juggling schedules to ensuring teams have the resources they need, it’s all about keeping the wheels turning smoothly. But what I’ve learned in this role goes far beyond operations—it's about people, processes, and problem-solving. Here are a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way: 1️⃣ Communication is Key Whether it’s between teams or across departments, clear communication can mean the difference between a smooth operation and a bottleneck. I’ve found that asking questions and ensuring alignment early can save hours (and headaches) later. 2️⃣ Adaptability is a Superpower In production, surprises are inevitable—delayed materials, unexpected changes, or tight deadlines. Staying flexible and solution-focused has been my go-to approach to keep things on track. 3️⃣ Teamwork Makes It All Happen At the end of the day, it’s the people I work with who make the difference. Ensuring everyone feels supported, heard, and valued not only boosts morale but also delivers better results. One recent win? We faced a tight timeline on a key project, but through collaboration and streamlined processes, we hit our target and exceeded expectations. I’m curious—what’s one lesson you’ve learned in your role that’s been a game-changer? Let’s share and learn from each other! #Leadership #Operations #CareerGrowth #Teamwork #ProductionCoordinator #LessonsFromTheField

You Are Not for Everybody—and That's a Good Thing In the world of Post Production Supervision, here's a little truth bomb: you are not for everybody—and you shouldn't be. Every project is different, every creative team has its own dynamic, and every director and producer brings their unique vision. As Post Supervisors, our job is to adapt, guide, and deliver—but not at the cost of losing what makes us us. The beauty of this industry is that we all have distinct strengths, approaches, and working styles. Some teams thrive on structure, while others value flexibility. Some projects require a technical wizard; others need a master of creative collaboration. If you're not the right fit for one project, it simply means the perfect one is still out there. The key is to align with clients who resonate with your individuality and value your specific skillset. So, embrace the fact that you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea—but for the right team, you'll be the perfect match. It’s this authenticity that builds trust and forges the kinds of creative partnerships that lead to truly great work. #PostProduction #CareerGrowth #IndividualityMatters #CreativePartnerships

How to go from a 16-year-old production assistant to opening your own multi million-dollar creative studio in 4 years: I started working as a production assistant at age 16, but I always knew I wanted to be a producer. So I had to start working my way up … from the very bottom. The first thing I did? Start turning down jobs as a production assistant and look for gigs that would get me to the next level. At this point, that meant hunting for “production coordinator” jobs. So I became a production coordinator. After being a production coordinator, I knew I needed to get into production managing. So I became a production manager. From there, I focused on getting into “line producing”— the next step up. Again, I turned down the stability of production managing jobs whenever possible, giving me the capacity to accept more line-producing work. So I became a line producer. This process repeated over the years — work hard to prove myself and then take the leap to get to the next level. And finally, at the age of 20, I started my own creative studio, SixTwentySix. Through every transition, from one role to the next, I consciously took the risk of losing work to make space for what I really wanted. I’ll be honest, it was a pretty uncomfortable place to be. But so many of the founders I look up to have said the same thing: Want to accelerate your own growth? Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
