**The Stress of Working in Sales Literally Killed Me** I had a fantastic career in car sales, From a junior in 1995 on 100% commission to a Sales Manager managing a team of 20 sales professionals. I was earning great money, but working 6 or 7 days a week, often 70-80 hours when I was selling cars. Don’t get me wrong—I loved it. • The thrill of closing deals. • The pressure of targets. • The buzz of sealing the next big one. • And of course, the money. But it literally killed me. I burned out, and I knew something had to change. That’s when I was introduced to David Ogilvy and direct response copywriting—and I knew right away this was the career for me! Over the years, I’ve offered a variety of sales and marketing services, but direct response copywriting has always ticked all the boxes. It gives me the same feeling I had when I was closing deals on the showroom floor—but with a much healthier lifestyle. Now, I get to help businesses sell more products and services without either of us getting anywhere near burnout. I’m writing for them from anywhere in the world, and they’re selling more without the need for hard, exhausting selling. Both my clients and I are living happier, healthier lives as a result. Are you ready to change how you sell? 🤷🏼♂️ DM me if you want help! #DirectResponse #SalesLife #Copywriting #DavidOgilvy #Marketing #HealthyBusiness #WorkLifeBalance #BusinessSuccess ——— 🔥 Share with your network if you found this helpful & follow Paul Wakefield for more copywriting tips I Help Businesses Sell More Products and Services. 💰 Orchestrated over $843 million in revenue 📚 Published over 300 first time authors ✏️ Creator of The Revenue Writers 📿 Founder of Purposeful Living 💥 I love talking about sales, mindset & entrepreneurship. A great way to help sales teams build credibility with prospects is to prepare compelling case studies. Prospects like to see people like them loving your product. Prospects want to see a version of themselves happy after your product solves their pain. This helps build credibility and trust. Your sales reps can establish this quicker than starting from zero with each prospect. If you do not have case studies to show to your prospects, you're sales cycles is going to take longer and your reps are going to struggle. If any B2B sales leaders in my network want to jump-start their library of case studies to help their teams sell better, I can help you. I live in Iowa. On Sunday morning, the wind chill will be -22 degrees F. I'll be in the basement under blankets watching football. Sales comes from persuasion... And persuasion comes from being loose from your edge rather than trying to do what everyone else is doing (copying from the GPT) or following someone you like.🙄 or to put it simply; showcasing yourself. If you have an email list, then reflect your personality even if you think it has nothing to do with your product or service. Let me explain more clearly...🤓 Many brands lack personality, and those without it are easily forgotten—maybe you can't remember any either.🤷♂️ On the flip side, brands with unique personalities are the ones that engrave their name on readers' minds. Now, what’s a unique personality? It’s you. No one, I mean no one on the face of this earth can be like you. They might be funnier, more experienced, or even more skilled than you, but they can never be you. It’s the biggest edge that you have, so utilize it… For long-term benefits.📈 If you can't do it yourself, hire someone. Sooner, you’ll realize that it’s the best decision you made for your business and yourself. This way, making sales would be a lot easier and more frequent. I think you got that… so… I am not going to talk about how to show your personality today (maybe some other day when I am short on ideas to write about).😜 Until then, focus on ways to leverage your personality from today. I hope it helps.❤ #copywriting #marketing #sales #copywriter #marketing #ROI #leadgeneration #CEO #business #businessowner

What's the common strategy to sell a service or a product? Having been in the business for over 9 months and working with 9+ clients, I've come to understand one common thing that works best for both service-based and product-based companies. Don't sell the product or service; sell the mind behind it. Understood? No? Let me explain. Picture this: you're super famous on LinkedIn or Instagram. You have a great community that engages with you and spreads word of mouth about you. Now, you have a product to sell. Would you burn your money on performance marketing and paid marketing to make your product famous? No, right? What if instead of pouring money into ads, you leverage your personal brand? That's the power move. People trust people, not just products or services. They want to connect with the mind, the personality, and the passion behind what they're investing in. Think about it this way: would you rather buy a faceless product from a random ad or invest in something recommended by someone you admire and trust? Exactly! By putting yourself out there, sharing your story, your expertise, your journey, you're not just selling a product or service - you're selling yourself. And that's the ultimate strategy in today's market. This is why I always suggest to my clients to build a personal brand before building their company (if they don't want to exhaust all their funds into marketing). So, next time you're thinking about how to sell, remember: it's not just about what you're selling, it's about who's selling it. And that's you. Ready to elevate your business? (if I have the opportunity to start all over, I will definitely include SALES into my Strategy for Building my brand...) 2. I wasn't sure what exactly to SELL and to WHOM! And as a result of these confusions, it took me long to figure out WHO I was, and what problem(s) I was capable of solving...❌😢. 🕛But, as time went by, I kept on meeting and interacting with People on Social Media, Live Events, and even around my Neighborhood. I then realized one thing: EVERYONE sincerely wants SOMEONE they can CONNECT & RELATE WITH ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL... Many expert and businesses will continually fail to close high sales after generating tons of leads … Because they assume everyone who reaches out is ready to buy right away. Newsflash…Many won’t. And it’s not always because they can’t afford to pay for your offer. The real issue is that a larger number don’t even know what they want… And it’s your job to take them from that phase of uncertainty to a buying phase where they are excited to buy. This is why you must make sure a true closer takes over after the lead generation stage. Quickly, let me show you my secret to closing deals at this stage. 📌 Sell the End Result- Show them how your solution will take away their fears, make them feel smarter, and give them what they really want. 📌 Be Clear and Emotional- Clearly explaining the results they’ll get and the emotions tied to those results. 📌 Use Quick Testimonials- Share a brief success story and ask, “Is this what you want?” 📌 Present the Price: When they say yes, shoot them the price and be quiet till they respond. 📌 Create Urgency: Finally, offer a special, limited-time deal. If you’re selling on a sales page, you may need to justify the price a bit more. Follow these steps, and you’ll start closing more high-ticket deals with ease. And if you’d prefer to have me help you or your team out then send a DM. Should I share more content like this? Let me know in the comments. #sales #closing #copywriting

"I don't do something that doesn't convince me" this is why most of your prospects end up not buying The statement suggests that if you, as a salesperson, don't genuinely believe in the product or service you're selling, It becomes challenging to persuade potential customers to make a purchase. Authentic conviction in what you're offering is crucial for successful sales because: 1. Genuine Enthusiasm: A customer can sense whether a person is genuinely enthusiastic and confident about the product. Authentic enthusiasm is infectious and can make a compelling case for the product's value. 2. Trust and Credibility: When a person believes in their product, they naturally exude trustworthiness and credibility. Customers are more likely to trust someone who appears honest and confident. 3. Effective Communication: Conviction helps you communicate the benefits and features of the product more convincingly and persuasively. It allows you to address potential concerns with confidence and provide strong, believable reassurances. 4. Personal Connection: Believing in the product allows you to connect better with your customers, understanding their needs, and relating how the product can solve their problems or enhance their lives. Improving your sales approach, it may be beneficial to either find products you truly believe in or to deepen your understanding and appreciation of the product you currently offer. This way, your natural conviction will help you persuade your prospects more effectively. PS: Are you confident of the product or service you're selling #Digitalmarketing #emailmarketing #Copywriting

The Skills I Focused on to Go From Zero to Closing $30k in Deals at Only 18 Years Old—Selling My Copywriting Services At 18, with zero sales experience, I closed $30k in deals offering my copywriting services. It wasn’t luck—it was focusing on the right skills. Here’s what helped me succeed: 1. Mastering Objection Handling Objections are opportunities to understand my prospects. I asked the right questions, listened, and responded with confidence—building trust, which made them more likely to close. 2. Building Rapport People buy from people they trust. I focused on building genuine connections, whether it was a chat before the pitch or finding common ground. This trust led to more sales. 3. Understanding My Service Inside and Out If you don’t understand your service, you can’t sell it. I learned every detail about my copywriting services so I could speak confidently and answer any questions with ease. 4. Developing a Strong Mindset Rejection is inevitable in sales, but I learned to see it as part of the process. Every “no” was one step closer to a “yes.” Building resilience kept me motivated. 5. Time Management and Organization With multiple calls, follow-ups, and projects, staying organized was key. I created a schedule, prioritized tasks, and tracked leads, which helped me close deals efficiently. 6. Investing in Personal Development I didn’t stop learning. I read books, attended webinars, and sought mentorship. Surrounding myself with successful people fast-tracked my growth. 7. Persistence and Consistency Closing deals is a numbers game. I stayed consistent—whether it was sending proposals, following up, or refining my approach—even when things didn’t feel easy. By focusing on these skills, I gained confidence and closed $30k in deals selling my copywriting services. If you're starting in sales—or any service business—focus on these skills. They’ll help you succeed, no matter your age. What skills have been essential in your sales journey? Let me know! Follow me for more insights -> Aleksy Bernat

One key attitude that helped me grow my business to multi 6-figures? "Think Hard, Execute Fast" 🧭 I realised I didn't have a scalable productized offer so... ↳ Launched my "Launch in 8 weeks" G-doc sales page (Helped me sell high-5 fig projects w ease) 🧭 Scrappy is cool, but it was time to look and feel premium so... Hired 2 designers, got burned, learned the importance of a strategist ↳ Hired the most premium brand strategist in my network 🧭 Lost 1 client because "Will this work in my niche?" and "But, why don't you have a Quiz?" so... ↳ Got a pro bono project locked to tap into that niche ↳ Hired my team to work on my Quiz in March (all locked in the calendar) 🧭 LinkedIn reach started tanking crazilyyyy, and relying on inbound only was lousy so... ↳ Started hosting LinkedIn Live panels to add crazy value to my audience (through speaking- a medium I really enjoy) 🧭 My "Six figures and still no website" episode on The Copywriter Club podcast was fab, but growing to 7 figs will need a website Made the mistake of outsourcing my website Wasted 8 months ↳ Then spent 8 days in hibernation writing all 6 pages (ugly first drafts) 🧭Because I'm a writer, I will waste too much time on perfectionism so... ↳ Currently speaking with the most talented writers who can zhuzh up my website 🧭 A premium brand calls for premium photography so... ↳ Week 1: Brought brand fabrics, and sent them to the designer ↳ Week 2: Spent a day speaking to 18 photographers Finalised one, created the moldboard, and booked a shoot for this Saturday 🧭Saw I doubled my MRR in November. Now, growth will require a world-class team so... ↳ Hired 2 new team members *before* taking on projects so I can train them and bring them to my standards before taking additional projects 🧭Sales are a result of starting conversations. More conversations= More sales so... ↳ Bought sales navigator yesterday, and now looking for the best sales nav coach to help me use it to its best potential I believe my business should be growing every week. So if it's not growing for over 2 weeks, then there is a problem. I first analyze, brainstorm, and pinpoint the problem. Find 5 solutions, and execute the first one within 24 hours. Solutions like: Hiring experts Buying niche courses Working with the no.1 niche coach Exploring ads/sales nav/newsletter ads What's one attitude that has helped you grow your business? P.S. The downside of this attitude is that you'll make investments that didn't deliver ROI- but then I brainstorm "where to invest" or "who to invest in" and execute fast.

Do you have a unique value proposition? The LinkedIn gurus say we must. So do sales and marketing consultants. I agree. For me, it’s simple: What makes you different? Why does it matter? And how does it benefit your customers? Here’s mine: I’ve spent three decades as a sales strategist and trainer, delivering highly effective solutions that drive measurable results for my clients. Alongside that, for the past 20 years, I’ve been a content writer, creating blogs, newsletters, social media posts, websites, and sales materials. Here’s where it gets interesting: I combine my sales expertise with my content creation skills to deliver a one-two punch that’s unique. This blend of strategy and storytelling helps my clients engage their audience, spark conversations, and ultimately drive sales. Some clients work with me for both services, others for one, but every client benefits from the depth of expertise I bring to the table. If you’re looking for someone who understands sales and knows how to craft content that resonates and converts, let’s talk. That’s what makes me different. What makes you different? How does it add value for your customers? Share to get more visibility.
