Could the UK become cleanest electricity producer in the G7 by 2030? A new scorecard devised by researchers at the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London says it can, if current clean power plans are implemented. From 2025 to 2030, the UK should begin thinking differently. There is no such thing as truly clean energy, as every process has environmental impacts. The focus should shift to converting emissions and waste into energy and other economic commodities, regardless of whether they come from hydrocarbon-based energy, nuclear, wind, solar, or other renewable sources.
