As you may remember, our final 30 for 30 initiative was supporting Henry’s Café with a donation to cover five Christmas meals for local residents—surprising them with a little extra holiday joy🎄 We’re delighted to share that the meals have been served, and the smiles say it all. A special thank you to Tony, who delivered the donation and had the chance to spend time with some of the lucky recipients. It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of community and kindness, especially during the festive season. Thank you to Henry’s Café for allowing us to be part of this wonderful effort. 🎄🎅 Here’s to spreading joy and warmth, one meal at a time! It’s that time, y’all—#GivingTuesday has arrived, the nonprofit world’s rebuttal to the consumerist nightmare of Black Friday. While Giving Tuesday is recognized globally, for me, it symbolizes the profound impact of grassroots community support—the belief that, together, we can effect real, lasting change. Big Big Table Community Café is proof of this power. In a world that prioritizes profit over people, spaces like ours are rare—when they should be the norm. Food insecurity exists not because of scarcity, but because of systemic inequities. At BBT, we are committed to fostering a space where mutual aid and community care take precedence over market logic. Because EVERYONE deserves a seat at the table. Community work is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain. If you are willing and able, please consider supporting Big Big Table today. This is about more than charity—it’s about solidarity, dignity, and justice. Learn more and donate here: https://lnkd.in/emMCXqks In a city that claims to be full of good neighbors, choose to be one not just today, but every day. And remember… it’s better to give than to receive—especially when it’s tax deductible ;) #GivingTuesday #FoodJustice #CommunityCare #SolidarityNotCharity #BuffaloNY #NonprofitImpact #PayItForward #EverybodyEats #MutualAid #DignityForAll #SupportLocalNonprofits #EndFoodInsecurity #BuffaloNY #SocialJustice #BuildingCommunity

As we approach Thanksgiving, let’s remember the importance of sharing our blessings with those in need. The holiday season is a time for gratitude and generosity, and many families in our community are facing food insecurity. This year, consider supporting the Client Choice Food Pantry at Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri. Our pantry allows clients to select food that meets their needs and preferences, ensuring that they receive nutritious meals for their families. How You Can Help: Donate non-perishable food items: Canned goods, pasta, rice, and other staples are always needed. Consider a financial contribution: Your donation helps us purchase fresh produce and other essential items for families in need. Volunteer your time: Join us in serving our community by helping at the pantry. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that every family has a warm meal to enjoy this Thanksgiving. Let’s come together in gratitude and generosity! #Thanksgiving #GiveBack #ClientChoiceFoodPantry #CatholicCharities #EndHunger #CommunitySupport #GratitudeInAction

Feelings. This is where Democrats, and for that matter, many charities, miss the mark. We often forget to consider how people feel. People said they felt bad about the economy. It wasn't that we didn't take them seriously—it was that we didn't center our message around their feelings. The same goes for charities. People give because they want to feel good about themselves. They want to feel like they're making a difference, like they're part of something bigger. When we communicate, we have to remember that it's not just about the facts—it's about making people feel hope, pride, and a sense of belonging. Fundraising is simple: make your supporters feel good about helping. But it's not always easy.
