The ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20. Sources indicate that the BJP is set to contest 152-155 seats, the Shiv Sena 78-80, and the NCP 52-54. The agreement was reached during a high-level meeting at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence in New Delhi. While the BJP has already released its first list of 99 candidates, the Shiv Sena and NCP are yet to announce their nominees. Despite the deal, there are reports of dissatisfaction within the alliance, particularly over seat allocations. Some Shiv Sena and BJP leaders have expressed disappointment at being denied their preferred constituencies. Maharashtra’s 288-member Assembly will be elected in a single phase, with results expected on November 23.... The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance appeared headed for a landslide victory in Maharashtra, securing a dominant lead over the struggling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), while the opposition INDIA bloc was on track to claim victory in Jharkhand, according to trends from the Election Commission on Saturday. As vote counting progressed for the assembly elections held earlier this month, India’s ruling and opposition alliances seemed set to win one state each, reflecting voter preference for stability over change. In Maharashtra, the Mahayuti coalition, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, was leading in 218 out of 288 seats, signaling strong support for the ruling alliance. Meanwhile, the MVA, consisting of the Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Shiv Sena (UBT), lagged far behind with leads in only 50 seats. . . Tensions have surfaced within the Mahayuti alliance following the BJP's announcement of its first list of 99 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20. The alliance, comprising the BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction, and Ajit Pawar's NCP, is witnessing discontent among some leaders over seat allocations. Notably, BJP's Ravindra Chavan has been fielded again from Dombivali, causing friction with Dipesh Mhatre, a EkNath Shinde Sena leader who had switched to the Uddhav Thackeray faction after being denied the seat. Other leaders, including BJP's Ganesh Naik, are also reportedly dissatisfied over seat distribution, while jailed BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad’s wife Shulbha's candidacy for Kalyan East has raised eyebrows within the Shinde faction. With the elections fast approaching, Mahayuti leaders are expected to hold a press conference to announce a seat-sharing formula, aiming to ease growing internal tensions. Seat-Sharing Strains in Maharashtra Test BJP's 'Chanakya' Amit Shah. Amit Shah, who oversees the ruling alliance's political affairs in Maharashtra after the splits in Shiv Sena and NCP, is facing major challenges in resolving seat-sharing issues for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The key Maharashtra state with 48 seats is proving hugely difficult, with only a few candidates announced so far by the Maha Yuti allies - BJP, Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar faction of NCP. The BJP is unwilling to leave more than 12 seats for Shinde's Sena and 6 for Ajit's NCP, not wanting to empower them and with its own sitting MPs facing anti-incumbency. Accommodating new entrants from opposing camps is causing friction. The crux lies in BJP's dilemma of balancing its own interests with demands from allies like Shinde and Ajit Pawar, who have limited bargaining power. Opposition hopes to capitalize on ruling front's divisions and anti-incumbency, but lacks a strong leader to take on the BJP. With 48 seats critical for Modi's bid for a third term, Shah is finding it tough to crack the Maharashtra code despite Fadnavis executing his plan locally after the splits he engineered in Sena and NCP. Resolving this Maharashtra puzzle is now Shah's top priority. https://lnkd.in/gvB6Hfmj ✍: #VenkateshKesari #MaharashtraElections #LokSabhaPolls2024 #SeatSharingTussle #MahaYutiAlliance #BJPvsBJPAllies #AmitShahsMantraMaharashtra #ShindeSenaVsBJP #AjitPawarFactionWoes #SaffronSeatShareSaga #MaharashtraPoliticalDrama #BalancingActForBJP #OppositionHopesInMaha #ModisThirdTermBid #Maharshtra #India #India2024 #News #News2024 #Politics #PoliticalNews #IndianPolitics #BJP #Elections #LokSabha

The Veerashaiva-Lingayat Swing Vote: BJP's Key to Retaining Karnataka Dominance. The Veerashaiva-Lingayat community, which makes up around 16-17% of Karnataka's population, has traditionally been a strong voter base for the BJP. However, in the 2023 Assembly elections, a significant portion of the Panchamsaali sect within this community shifted towards the Congress party due to anger over the BJP's handling of leadership changes and failure to meet the community's demands for increased reservations. This helped the Congress win 25-30 seats that were previously BJP strongholds. As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, the BJP is determined to regain the lost Veerashaiva-Lingayat support. They have re-inducted B.S. Yediyurappa into prominent party roles, made his son the state party chief, and are signaling their commitment to addressing the community's grievances. However, there are still doubts if the Panchamsaali sect will fully return to the BJP fold or continue favoring the Congress which promised to meet their demands. How this influential community swings could make or break the electoral fortunes of both parties in Karnataka's Lok Sabha seats. https://lnkd.in/gXD5a9bQ ✍: #ShyamSundarVattam #VeerashaivLingayatVote #KarnatakaElections #BJPKarnataka #CongressKarnataka #PanchamsaaliLingayats #YediyurappaReinducted #ReservationDemands #CasteVoteBanks #SwingVote #LokSabhaPolls2024 #Like #Follow #BolIndiaBol #LokSabha #Karnataka #India #News #News2024 #India2024 #Congress #BJP
