Yesterday was Earth Day. Earthday.org demands a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040. With the new Formlabs Form 4, we redesigned our resin cartridges from the ground up with sustainability in mind. The cartridges have 63% less plastic waste than our prior generation. And by printing low volume parts onsite, CO2 emissions from shipping around the world can be eliminated. The Form 4 cartridges also perform better. They fill resin tanks 5-10X faster. And they take up 30% less shelf space. Sometimes, you can have it all. #3dprinting #additivemanufacturing #innovation #sustainability #design

I am proud to share a recent collaboration with one of our customers of self-wound overlaminates. Another nice example that sustainable solutions do not necessarily sacrifice performance, or do not require lots of change effort, but rather create an advantage! Reach out for more information. Packaging producers are under pressure to find ways to reduce waste and lower their carbon footprint without sacrificing performance or losing their competitive advantage. Our AD RDXTM self-wound overlaminate, a clear protective film applied to labels, can help by delivering excellent performance in a thinner package that creates less waste and uses less materials than conventional films. One of our customers that recently made the switch from conventional self-wound overlaminate to the AD RDX version is N.A.P., a Slovakian label design and printing company. For them, it was an easy switch! As a result, they’ll save 615 kg of CO2 emissions and 750 liters of water per year!
