At #ISPOREurope 2024 in Barcelona Roche France and Horiana exhibited posters on 2 hot topics: 👉 One showing that aggregated data for Matching Adjusted Indirect Comparison can provide robust evidence using Quantitative Bias analysis. This is the first time that QBA is used in MAIC. 👉 The other one describing the first results of the real world study evaluating the new #MSAS questionnaire regarding autonomy of patient suffering of multiple sclerosis.

BioRN is one of 25 partner organisations from eleven European countries that are working together on the further development of tailored healthcare as part of the EU research project PRECISEU, short for "Empowering Personalized Medicine connecting Innovation Regional Ecosystems Across Europe". 💡 The PRECISEU project will connect regions in Europe to share best practices and solutions and promote innovation in healthcare, focusing on advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) and health data. The five-year project is funded with a total of 22.7 million euros, half of which comes from the Horizon Europe initiative. It brings together regional authorities, academic institutions, non-governmental organisations and innovation actors. PRECISEU involves innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs in the participating countries, including Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Ukraine. ✅Gitte Neubauer, Chair of the board of BioRN says: "Participation in this consortium fits perfectly with our mission to act as a dynamic and innovative life sciences ecosystem beyond the borders of Germany". ✅ Julia Schaft, Managing Director of BioRN explains:"With our many years of expertise, we want to make a valuable contribution to this strategically important international project and play a decisive role in shaping the future of healthcare. [#innaxe4eu] Zoom on insights from the Council of European BioRegions - CEBR! 🛠️ Last month, Council of European BioRegions - CEBR organized interviews and an interactive discussion on “Enhancing the impact of EU life sciences clusters actions through international cooperation” with stakeholders from the health and life science European sector to gather insights and recommendations on INNAXE’s future joint action plan.   📌 Cluster to cluster (C2C) cooperation is pivotal, grounded in mutual trust and involving cluster organizations, their companies, and stakeholders directly. 📌 EU clusters are motivated to collaborate in tackling shared challenges, demonstrating a collective commitment to innovation. 📌 Matching innovators with investors poses a significant challenge across diverse countries and ecosystems, emphasized as a top priority for many clusters. 📌 Real-world needs should inform the development of new products, with public procurement of innovation playing a role in enhancing healthcare quality and equity. 📌 European cooperation prioritizes advanced therapies and health data access, with regulatory and educational aspects taking precedence over technical considerations. Few researchers and organisations have the expertise, skills, and infrastructure to tackle #AMR and discover new #antibiotics. Long-term funding for #antibiotic development partnerships will help attract young scientists to the field and keep companies in anti-infective drug development. To secure a sustainable future for efforts of this scale, we call on government leaders, the private sector and other stakeholders to invest in the development of antibiotics and AMR research.   The AMR Accelerator is an Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) programme integrating nine projects with the shared goal of progressing the development of new antibiotics and building #antimicrobial resistance research capability. Five years in, we reflect on the programme’s value, results and key challenge: ensuring the sustainability of our assets, infrastructures and expertise. Mario Draghi’s report ordered by Ursula von der Leyen about the future of European competitiveness is a titanic work providing an ocean of informative data about each key sectors of economy. Thanks Olivier Gosset and L'Echo for stimulating our reflection on this report and for allowing expression of critical analysis.   Concerning the pharma industry my preferred proposal is doubtlessly proposal #1 of the report :⭐Maximize the impact of the EU Health Data Space, e.g. by facilitating access to and the sharing of electronic health records, leveraging the @DARWIN EU® network and scaling up genome sequencing capacities⭐, the latest referring to the Beyond 1 Million Genomes B1MG Project.   With a population of 450 million, Europe holds immense potential to produce big health data, enabling a dramatic boost in pharma R&D productivity through broader and deeper exploration of disease biology and therapeutic molecule biochemistry. Why doesn't scientific research evolve as a solution to problems in Brazil? The answers to this question go through several layers and one of them is the importance of the intersection between the public sector and the private sector in building partnerships in both the development and regulation of processes. Who highlights this is Marina Domenech, CEO of Intrials Clinical Research, founder of SAIL for Health and vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Representative Organizations for Clinical Research (ABRACRO). She also states that having Biotimize and a #CDMO in Brazil means being able to scale research and retain technology within the country, avoiding the diaspora of knowledge to reach full innovation.
