No part of a timber fiber goes to waste, here's how: 🪵The bark isn't tossed aside, rather it's repurposed for sprucing up your garden and giving your landscape a fresh look. 🪵Not just a bunch of twigs! Pulpwood and chips are the unsung heroes in a myriad of applications, from the production of sturdy engineered wood products to energy development, from hydroseed applications to creating the pages of your favorite books. 🪵Did you know sawdust is more than just.....well, dust? It fuels the kiln process, enriches our agricultural soil, and even gives that smoky delicious flavor to your barbeque with grilling briquettes. 🪵Finally, the mighty timber fiber is responsible for creating some of the everyday things we might take for granted, like the comfy furniture we relax on, the floors we tread on, the framing that holds our house, and a whole lot more. So, the next time you see timber, you'll know it's not just a piece of wood! 🌳 #churchandchurch #churchandchurchlumber #lumber #nclumber #landclearing #timber #timberharvesting #harvest #machinery #work

Even the most discerning horse enthusiast may find themselves tempted by a wooden fence post. After all, a good chomp now and then is simply delightful, wouldn't you agree? However, fear not, fellow horse lovers! Those seemingly delicious CCA-treated posts, with their rustic charm, are not a cause for alarm. The truth is, the small amount of "special ingredients" within these posts is simply not enough to bother our four-legged friends. Imagine, if you will, a horse trying to devour a ten-foot long two-by-four in one sitting! An impressive feat, no doubt, but highly unlikely. Furthermore, modern CCA treatments are about as appealing to a horse's taste buds as yesterday's bran mash. One might say they're rather bland. Rest assured, your noble steed is much more likely to develop a liking for that stray horseshoe lurking in the paddock than these unseasoned fence posts. So, the next time you see your horse engaging in a bit of fence post nibbling, worry no more! Their adventurous spirit is simply taking them on a brief culinary exploration, one that will surely leave them longing for the far tastier treats that await them in the stable. Read the following blog to learn why timber is so great for horse stables.
Timber offers a naturally warm, breathable environment that's kind to your horse and easy on your wallet. Why Timber Stables are Neigh-Sayer Proof: ✅Warm & Cozy: Unlike metal or concrete, timber provides natural insulation for year-round comfort. ✅Easy Cleaning: Smooth surfaces mean less scrubbing and more time with your horse! ✅Eco-Friendly and safe: Sourced sustainably our timber is safe to use as the chemicals are properly fixed into the timber. ✅Built to Last: Pressure-treated options resist rot, decay, and pesky insects. #TipTuesday …. Dry soils such as traffic soil and airborne soils are a constant problem with sisal floor coverings. The weave of the sisal (over/under without a pile) suspends these soils near the surface. As such, it has very little ability to hide soils unlike other floor covering options like wool. Sisal should be vacuumed frequently. This will remove most of the dry soils and prevents these soils form acting like sand paper and causing unnecessary wear. #fiberseal #pittsburgh #fabricprotection #interiordesign #fabrics #fabriccare #protip #fabriccaretips #carpet

Happy "What the WUFI Wednesday" #WTWUFIWEDNESDAY "Which brick from the North American WUFI database should I use?" This is a question that every serious WUFI user probably asks at some point. If you are working on a real project, measurements of the specific material properties are probably the best way to go. If budget does not allow this, which brick from the WUFI database should I use? To cover the worst case, I usually use the "Brick (Old)". This brick is, let's say, very thirsty. Modern bricks are probably less absorptive, but historic bricks can be just as thirsty, and I have measured more than one brick sample with similar properties to the Brick (Old). If your WUFI results show concerns, you probably need an improved design or measurement results for the specific brick. Happy #WTWUFIWEDNESDAY
