Sometimes, marketing feels like an endless series of tasks, but there are moments that remind you why you love what you do. Organising our booth for AAPEX was one of those moments for me. This was my first time setting up a booth for such a major event, and, honestly, it had its challenges. But in the end, it all came together. From the start, I asked myself: 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆? 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? But most importantly: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? Our main goal was to create visibility and awareness, and to do that, the message needed to be simple. But that simplicity? Much harder to achieve than you’d think. I can tell you that this journey was filled with challenges. There were moments of doubt as I questioned which direction to take. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲? 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆? Working as a one-person marketing team means you’ve got to trust your own instincts, sometimes while second-guessing them! But I kept one principle at the core of every decision: keep the customer at the centre! That focus transformed our booth from just another stand into a story that spoke to our brand’s pride, heritage, and value. When I finally saw the end result of the booth, I felt proud. For me, it wasn’t just a stand; it was our story brought to life, infused with pride in our heritage and a clear message of what we could do for our customers. This experience reminded me why I love what I do. Marketing isn’t just about products; it’s about making connections, sparking emotions, and leaving a lasting impression. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆. And that’s what I love and what I am here for. #marketing #lovewhatIdo #makingrealconnections 📸 Back drop of the booth

We have just begun the start of festival season! After years of leaning into performance marketing, the landscape is once again shifting to in-person experiences. According to 2023 Forrester research, more than three-quarters of marketing executives are returning to experiential marketing to educate, engage, and build trust with consumers. Check out our Inspira Infographic below, featured on the Association of National Advertisers, that looks at how consumers feel about events and the impact that participation has on brands. 🎡 https://lnkd.in/eXJrkwfy

Last week: - Host our first-ever Create Brave event - Win two agency awards at Prolific North - Activate brand launches I’m really proud of This week: - Self-doubt - Anxiousness - Questioning everything I know I’m not the only one who crashes off the back of peaks of ‘success’ and positivity. So I’m sharing this for you to know you’re not the only one. The thing is, I am trying to get good at seeing the negative thoughts coming. Because thoughts aren’t real. THEY ARE ONLY THOUGHTS. What is real are the facts: we put on an event, lots of people came, the feedback was great. We took our team to an awards evening and took home some trophies. We pulled campaigns and a web launch out of the bag for our clients, everyone is happy. Thoughts can become reality, if you let them. It's our job not to fear them, but to notice when they’re coming and correct their course. This week I’m reminding myself of the great people I’m surrounded by and the work that I love to do with them. What do you need to remind yourself of this week?

Last Sunday, I gave my first ever workshop on personal branding to over 100+ amazing founders, soon-to-be founders, consultants, and more. I talked about social strategy to defining what "success" on those platforms looks like to monetization and everything in between. Walking off the stage after my 3rd presentation to the final group, there are five main lessons that people told me they took away: 1. Be consistent first and then the rest will fall into place. 2. You have to stand out in order to be seen. You can't not put yourself out there and just expect people to find you. Don't complain if you aren't putting in the work. 3. There can be more than 1 person (or brand) talking about the same concept in a space. No one "owns" anything. How you speak about a subject, how you format it, can be different than the rest. Find your voice. Find ways to do cool things as a group. For example, if you're someone who has a newsletter in the social media space do cool things with friends who might have overlapping audiences with similar interests. This world is all about competition. We need to start doing more cool s***. 4. Ask or you'll never know. Whether it's about a potential partnership, a sponsorship for an event, just ask. 5. Being on Linkedin is only cringe if you make it cringe. TBH it's now one of my favorite platforms. Thank you to everyone who came by TALEA Beer Co.'s BetterFest and to the TALEA team for having me (Megan Fitzgerald Tara Hankinson LeAnn Darland). #personalbranding #socialmediastrategy #socialmedia #organicsocialmedia #organicsocial #brandmarketing #personalbrand

Gift boxes are a game-changer in event campaigns! They’re not just boxes—they’re your brand’s first impression, a way to excite and connect with your audience on a personal level. Curating the perfect gift box, like the one for the #SeeNaijaWithMTN initiative, adds that extra “wow” factor and sets the tone for what’s to come! We loved how @thisthingcalledfashionn unboxed her invite for the #SeeNaijaWithMTN initiative! 📦 Why gift boxes matter: - Brand vibes on point: A well-crafted box shows off your brand’s personality and gets people talking. - Unboxing buzz: Everyone loves a good unboxing moment—it’s instant social media gold, and it gets people hyped! - Personal touch: Thoughtful curation makes your guests feel special, and they’ll remember you long after the event. - Engagement boost: Fun, interactive items inside the box? Yes, please! They’ll have people diving into your event and sharing it everywhere. #SavvyMediaPRSolutions #UnboxingMagic #MTNSeeNaija #PR
