🔍💡Do family SMEs engage more in internationalization, or do they engage less? It turns out, their approach to internationalization is not necessarily linear or consistent! ❌ 📈 In fact, by drawing on a refinement of the behavioral agency model (BAM) and real options reasoning, our research in Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice reveals that higher family involvement in SMEs increases intermittent exporting, a strategy of repeatedly exiting and re-entering foreign markets (➡️🚪⬅️; then 🔁). This morning, the foundation stone for the new factory of the Japanese company JFE Shoji Serbia was ceremonially placed in Inđija. The new plant, worth approx. 50 million euros and expected to employ between 100 and 150 people, will use the newest technology while contributing to the growth of the automotive and electrical industries in Serbia and Europe. During his inauguration speech, H.E. the Ambassador of Japan in Belgrade Akira Imamura expressed his satisfaction that JFE Shoji Corporation, one of the world's leading companies in the field of electrical steel, chose Serbia for their first factory in Europe. He also stated that the plant will make cores for electric motors for Nidec Electric Motor Serbia in Novi Sad, as well as automotive firms from other nations. The ceremony was also attended by the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović, the Assistant Minister for Dual Education and Training Gabrijela Grujic, the President of the Municipality of Inđija Vladimir Gak and JFE Shoji Corporation’s representatives, led by its Executive Vice President Yoshitsugu Kobayashi.
