Reminder: You can be a great performer at work and also write content you're passionate about online. You can be well-respected in your industry offline and build a meaningful digital community in parallel. You can excel at your job and combine it with hobbies that inspire and replenish you. You can hit your targets and also take care of your body and soul with healthy routines. Most of us are not built to do just one thing, giving it our 100%. Most of us don't thrive in one-dimensionalism. We can wear various hats and find our personal equilibrium. Prioritizing happiness is the real luxury today.

International Day of Happiness is an annual celebration aimed at helping people around the world to realise the importance of happiness in their lives. This year’s ‘Happier Together’ theme reminds us that lasting happiness comes from feeling connected to others and being part of something bigger. Plan to do something that makes you happy, and take the time to really appreciate the feelings of joy and contentment that arise. Reflect on what makes you happy and make a plan to add more of those things into your daily routines. It’s also a day to spread happiness to others so think of little ways you can brighten someone’s day and do something kind for someone else. Even a simple smile could brighten someone's day! #happiness #internationaldayofhappiness #idh2024 #spreadhappiness #ndis

The Macronutrients of Happiness 😊 In a recent enlightening piece, Arthur C. Brooks delineates what he calls the "three macronutrients of happiness": 🙂enjoyment 🙂satisfaction 🙂meaning These elements are foundational to a fulfilled life, transcending the superficial highs of pleasure alone. Brooks emphasizes the necessity of integrating these macronutrients into our daily lives to achieve genuine contentment. This involves a proactive approach to happiness, where we not only seek enjoyable experiences but also ensure they hold deep personal significance and contribute to our overall life satisfaction. He also challenges us to step back from the relentless pursuit of pleasure which often leads to temporary highs or even addiction and instead cultivate experiences enriched with personal connections and memories. This approach encourages a more sustainable and profound form of happiness, rooted in our connections with others and our contributions to the world. It’s a great reminder of how we can shape our journey towards a happier, more meaningful life. Let’s discuss: How do you integrate enjoyment, satisfaction, and meaning into your daily routine? #Happiness #Wellbeing #PersonalDevelopment #MindfulLiving https://lnkd.in/gG7StQWK

I challenged myself to spend more time on self care in September and used the Action for Happiness calendar as my guide. I missed a few days, but overall relied on many of the practices throughout the month for inspiration and it felt amazing! Today's focus is -- "Remind yourself that you are enough, just as you are" -- and I'm hoping that this post reaches anyone who needs this reminder today. 🩷 If you're looking for a bit of daily inspiration, I recommend you check out Action for Happiness and their monthly calendars. They will help you focus on what really matters. What about sharing this resource with your team? What a great way to build connection and promote optimism. 🍁 Get your calendar here: https://lnkd.in/eSjwZT59 If you have other resources that you rely only, I'd love to know what they are so share below. Happiness isn't a destination but a direction. That's a key insight from Harvard professor Arthur C. Brooks, who teaches a class on happiness and recently co-authored a book with Oprah Winfrey on the topic. According to Brooks, the happiest people balance and prioritize what he calls the "3 macronutrients of happiness": 1. Enjoyment - More than just pleasure, true enjoyment comes from engaging in activities with others and creating positive memories. It's about shared experiences. 2. Satisfaction - This is the reward and sense of accomplishment that comes from struggling for something and earning it through hard work and sacrifice. Easy victories provide far less satisfaction. 3. Purpose - Having a clear meaning and direction in life. Knowing the "why" behind what happens to you and what you're working towards and living a life of significance. Brooks says we need all three, but having a strong sense of purpose is crucial. It takes real work and soul-searching to find your purpose, but it's essential for a truly fulfilling life. By intentionally cultivating more enjoyment, satisfaction, and especially purpose in our lives, we can steadily move toward greater happiness and fulfillment. A journey is well worth pursuing. #Happiness #LifeSatisfaction #Purpose #LifeLessons

Happiness Is Important: Constantly Do the Things That Make You Happy Happiness isn’t just a fleeting emotion—it’s a vital part of living a fulfilling and balanced life. Too often, we get caught up in responsibilities, expectations, and the hustle of daily life, leaving little room for the things that bring us joy. But here’s the truth: happiness fuels success. When you regularly engage in activities that make you happy, it recharges your energy, improves your mental health, and enhances your overall well-being. It’s not selfish to prioritize your happiness—it's necessary. Here’s Why You Should Constantly Do What Makes You Happy: Happiness Improves Your Health – Doing things you love reduces stress, boosts immunity, and keeps you energized. Happiness Enhances Productivity – When you feel good, your creativity and focus increase, helping you succeed in all areas of life. Happiness Spreads Positivity – When you’re happy, it reflects in your relationships and the way you interact with others. Take time every day to invest in yourself. Whether it’s reading a book, pursuing a passion, or spending time with loved ones, these moments of joy are what life is all about. Don’t wait for happiness—create it by constantly doing what you love. #PersonalDevelopment #YasmeenBanu1 #HolisticSelfHub
