In Lebanon’s most challenging times of political turmoil and government neglect, the heart of the Lebanese people shines brilliantly as a testament to #resilience and #unity. While politicians may pursue their own interests and seek media attention, it is the everyday Lebanese—from the smallest villages to bustling cities, and within the diaspora—who are rising to the occasion. They are offering food, shelter, and care, bridging divides that have long separated us, all motivated by an immense compassion for one another.🤝 This spirit of solidarity embodies the #Lebanon we long for—a Lebanon grounded in #generosity, #strength, and shared #humanity, one where support triumphs over division. It serves as a profound reminder that the true essence of Lebanon resides in its people, not its leaders. By nurturing this unity, we hold the power to rebuild a Lebanon that reflects our highest values—a Lebanon that can stand as a beacon of #hope, strength, and resilience for #future generations. ♥️🇱🇧🤍 #bring_peace_again #stop_the_war

#LebaneseIndependenceDay We, Lebanese people, are often praised for our resilience; it’s a label we’ve earned through countless struggles as our spirit remains steady despite ongoing challenges.🇱🇧 While resilience is a testament to our strength and a badge we wear with pride, we deserve more than merely enduring hardship. We deserve to live in a stable, flourishing nation. Our hopes extend beyond survival, toward a life where peace, progress, and prosperity are our daily reality, not distant dreams. ✨💼 Resilience has been our means to survive, but it is not the end we aspire to. On this Independence Day, we wholeheartedly hope for a future where Lebanon is not only known for its resilience but also for boundless growth and thriving. 🕊️🚀

Reflecting on Lebanon's Future: Time for Collective Action I recently came across these poignant words by Khalil Gibran, written nearly a century ago: ... What will remain of your Lebanon after a century . . . ? Except bragging, lying and stupidity . . . ? I say to you, while the conscience of time listened to me that the songs of a maiden collecting herbs in the valleys of Lebanon will outlast all the uttering of the most exalted prattler among you . . . You have your Lebanon and I have my Lebanon. Kahlil Gibran, circa 1928 Gibran's words, while evocative, also challenge us to consider: - How can we preserve the essence of Lebanon - its resilience, rich culture, and natural beauty - for future generations? - What active role can *we* play in shaping a hopeful future for the country? Let's engage in a constructive dialogue, focusing on: - Strengths and opportunities: What are Lebanon's unique assets and potential areas for growth? - Collaborative solutions: How can we work together - across industries, backgrounds, and generations - to address challenges? - Individual action: What steps can we take in our own lives, big or small, to contribute to a positive future? Together, let's write a new chapter for Lebanon, one that reflects its enduring spirit and potential. #alawandos #Lebanon #Future #CollectiveAction #Hope #gibran

Today, November 22, marks Lebanon’s Independence Day—a day that traditionally embodies the resilience, unity, and freedom of our nation. Yet, this year, the celebration carries a weight of reflection, pain and sorrow. Independence is not just a historical milestone but a living promise to safeguard our land, our people, and our values. In these difficult times of war, it is crucial to revisit what independence truly means. It is more than sovereignty—it is about unity amidst diversity, hope in adversity, and the unwavering will to rise above all challenges. This moment calls on all of us to go beyond commemoration and embrace peacebuilding. True independence thrives when rooted in peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding. By fostering these principles, we can work toward a Lebanon where differences are bridged, and freedom is safeguarded through collective effort and reconciliation. Let this day serve as a moment of solidarity and freedom. Let us honor not just the independence we gained but also the resilience we as Lebanese continue to show. As we remember our past, may we draw strength to face the uncertainties of the present and strive for a future marked by peace and prosperity. May Lebanon stand strong and peaceful, today and always. #Lebanon #IndependenceDay #Peacebuilding #Unity #Resilience #Hope

𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗘 It’s my birthday—but that’s not all. November 22nd is also Lebanon’s Independence Day, a day meant to symbolize freedom and resilience. Yet today, Lebanon is under attack. Families are suffering, lives are shattered, and my heart aches for the people who are enduring unimaginable pain right now. But here’s the thing about Lebanon and its people: 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲—𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺. Did you know Lebanon gave the world the alphabet? Or that it’s home to Byblos, one of the oldest cities in history? It’s a country rooted in brilliance and resilience, and no war, no hardship, can erase that. Growing up Lebanese, I learned that resilience isn’t a choice—it’s a way of life. It’s why I don’t just look at challenges; I face them, learn from them, and grow stronger. Lebanon taught me that. So today, I want to honor the people of Lebanon—those fighting to survive, those who’ve been lost to war, and those who carry the spirit of our beautiful country wherever they go. This isn’t just about my birthday or our Independence Day. It’s about celebrating the unbreakable spirit of the Lebanese people. #lebanon #resilience #transformation CCICL (Chambre de commerce et d'industrie Canada-Liban)

Dear Professionals, What’s the point? What’s the point of collecting titles and degrees if we’re losing our morals? While genocides unfold in front of our eyes, the world’s organizations remain either silent or paralyzed. What are we doing? Are we even real anymore? The international community views us, the Lebanese, as wanderers—children of the world. They think we leave our country intentionally. They don’t see that we are being forced out. But we try. We return. We build, and we rebuild. We plant dreams in this shattered soil and try to convince others to dream here too. I’ve met extraordinary people who refuse to give up on Lebanon, who elevate and inspire even when everything seems impossible. We’ve endured unimaginable hardships due to internal mismanagement. And we rose. Time and time again, we rose. But this—this we cannot rise against. Not when the threat comes from beyond our borders. Not when we are facing a nation with superior military technology, the backing of powerful allies, deciding our fate as though our existence is a mere inconvenience. As I write this, Lebanon is under attack. We are staring into the abyss, and we are alone. In just 4 days, 1/6 of the population has been displaced with many injured and killed . And the numbers grow every hour. I am sharing this on LinkedIn for a reason. I believe there are decision-makers, leaders, and mediators from all around the world on this platform who have the power to act. You know us by now. You’ve heard about Lebanese. You saw us in action. We don’t need to prove our worth. I am begging you to speak out and use your influence to diplomatically fight for Lebanon and advocate for peace—before more lives are lost, before we lose everything. With unwavering hope. 📢 Protect Lebanon's Cultural Heritage 📢 As a member of ICOMOS Lebanon, I am deeply concerned about the recent escalation of conflict, which poses a critical threat to our invaluable cultural heritage. The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) has issued a statement highlighting the immediate and grave dangers to both tangible and intangible heritage in Lebanon. Lebanon's cultural landscape, including World Heritage sites like Tyre and Baalbek, as well as other significant sites such as Anjar and Byblos, are at risk from ongoing airstrikes and bombings. The destruction of these sites would be a loss for all of humanity. ICOMOS calls on all parties to protect cultural heritage and adhere to international laws, including the 1954 Hague Convention and the 1972 World Heritage Convention. The intentional targeting of cultural and religious sites is a war crime and must be condemned. Let's raise awareness and support efforts to safeguard Lebanon's cultural heritage. Only a cessation of hostilities can prevent further harm. #CulturalHeritage #Lebanon #ICOMOS #ProtectHeritage #WorldHeritage

Cultural heritage in Lebanon is an essential component of the national identity, a testament to its cultural and civilisational diversity. This heritage is currently at risk of destruction, which constitutes an attack on the collective identity and the memory of people and communities across the wider Arab region. Recognising the importance of protecting Lebanon’s cultural heritage, we call upon the international community to unite for immediate and coordinated actions to safeguard it. We propose the following measures expressed by Lebanese partners on the ground: 1. Adherence to the 1954 Hague Convention; 2. International cooperation and support to stop the widespread destruction of urban spaces; 3. Protection of museums, collection storage facilities, cultural institutions, and other heritage spaces crucial to the cultural continuity of communities. Join us in sharing this message to mobilise the international community in support of Lebanese cultural heritage and the heritage of communities across the wider Arab region. To protect heritage is to protect identity and memory.
