Relationship between ISO and EIAC (Standards vs. Accreditation Body) ISO Standards/EIAC Accreditation ISO : publishes the standards that organizations can choose to implement. EIAC : assess and verify that organizations, comply with specific international standards.

What is ISO? The International Organization for Standardization is a network of 172 national standards bodies. ISO members are the foremost standards organizations in their country and there is only one member per country. Each member represents ISO in its country. There are three member categories with different levels of access and influence. Full members (or member bodies) set the course for ISO standards development and strategy: participating and voting in ISO technical and policy meetings; sell and adopt ISO standards nationally. Correspondent members attend ISO technical and policy meetings as observers; sell and adopt ISO standards nationally / within their membership territory. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international nongovernmental organization made up of national standards bodies; it develops and publishes a wide range of proprietary, industrial, and commercial standards and is comprised of representatives from various national standards organizations. ISO certification involves having an independent third-party organization provide assurance that a product or service meets the requirements of a particular ISO standard. Although the process will vary based on the type of standard and certifying body, the following steps are required.
