In 2019, Bangladesh tiger survey data was released. In that survey, the number of tigers in Bangladesh came up to 114. The new survey to know the number of tigers has been completed but the data is in the final stage of review. According to the preliminary data of that survey, the number of tigers in Bangladesh has increased compared to the previous year survey. Tiger deaths are also increasing. In the 23 years from 2001 to April 2024, 42 tigers died in different ways in the Sundarbans.
