I recently visited IISR ( Institute of Sugarcane Research), Lucknow, U.P. There, I have witnessed Kisan Fair. The whole experience was very insightful and brainstroming. I want to throw some light on the visit in detail- • Extension services- There, I have seen farmers were acquinted with noval techniques and varieties introduced into the market. • Expert opinions- Farmers were able to interact directly with the experts for their crop diseases, soil health, etc information. • Exhibition of agro products- There is a rich environment where people and entrepreneurs promote their agri based products and increase the awareness about the local based product which in turn provide market diversity • Capacity building- Last but not the least, there were workshops, technical sessions and field visits where the skills and capacities of the farmers were increased. Thus, these were some key learnings that I have gathered from the Kisan Fair at IISR, Lucknow. I thrive to experience such knowledge in future and thankful that I have got an opportunity to witness such insightful event. #iisrlucknow #agriculture

Earlier this month, we were part of a #workshop organised by the Assam Bought Leaf Manufacturer's Association in collaboration with the Tea Board of India. They were held on 9th and 10th April at Udaipur near Lekhapani and Pengeri near Tinsukia with 175+ small tea growers from the local community in attendance. The focus was on the #IntegratedPestManagement practices with minimal use of Plant Protection Formulas (PPFs). Among the topics discussed were PPFs that are safer to use in the tea plantations as prescribed in the Plant Protection Code (PPC) and by the FSSAI, along with latest updates on banned chemicals in tea. We provided insights on #climatechange impact on #tea plantations, adoption of #regenerativeagriculture and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) towards #sustainable tea farming. #trusteatraining #partnerships #goodagriculturalpractices #collaboration

Greetings LinkedIn Community   Under this part of the study, Technical Members visited the Bhiwadi Cluster comprising of Tehsils including Tapukara, Kotkasim & Tijara from Rajasthan and Tauru, Nuh, Gurgaon, Sohna, Farrukhnagar, Pataudi & Rewari from Haryana. The technical visits included interacting with various stakeholders including ULB Officials, Tehsildars, Agriculture Officials, Market Committees, Crop Residue suppliers, transporters, local farmers, dairy farms, poultry farms etc. The project had two primary objectives, to understand the agriculture patterns, crop cycle, crop types, crop residue data, the supply chain etc. of Bhiwadi Cluster and to analyse the feasibility of setting up a CBG plant in the cluster. #Entrepreneurship #FoodProcessing #FarmerUpliftment 🥝 On my efforts to understand the #FoodProcessing industry that can help uplift the #farmers, I visited #Frutx located at #Khargone, #Umrada in Madhya Pradesh. I was briefed by Mr Rajesh Kotgirwar, the plant manager stating that this was the biggest fruit crushing plant in #MadhyaPradesh with a capacity of almost 250 Metric Tonnes. 🌽The plant can handle up to 7 varieties of fruits with #Tomato processing being their star product, besides which they also process #Papaya, #Mangoes, #Guavas, #GreenChillies, #RedChillies and #Tamarind. Last year the company was able to process tomatoes for a period of 190 days, well beyond the fruit produce time. Packaging is completely automatic, done in a very hygienic environment in specially sterilized plastic bags inside a drum that is filled to the max capacity of 228 Kgs per drum. 🛢These drums are logged with an easily identifiable index, for quality, quantity and time of packaging and can be stored for up to two years at room temperatures. A 2 Kg sample package is kept separately for quality control and testing. Company has a fully equipped chemical testing laboratory and a team which is on the job throughout. At their scale they require around 80 laborers of all types to run the unit. 🌾🌾I brought out these basic details for anyone to be able to understand what would be required in establishing such a business to facilitate our #farmers and investing through this to help uplift their economic condition thereby also adding to the national financial growth. The Indo-German AMD project has successfully enabled the second trial shipment of 19 MT of Coriander, which complies with EU standards. This shipment originated from Ramganjmandi, Rajasthan, and was sent by Sarnagiti Kisan Agro Producer Company. The recipient of this shipment was Asian Spices, a prominent exporter. The Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board, under the Government of Rajasthan, and the Spices Board India played a crucial role in providing the required support and guidance. Through these efforts, the FPC is showcasing its ability to actively participate in export value chains. Throughout the previous season, the AMD project initiatives delivered cluster-level training sessions focusing on the current utilization of active substances by farmers, EU-approved active substances, and good agricultural practices to the chosen FPO farmers of Sarnagiti Kisan Agro Producer Company. This was done to enhance the quality of coriander in accordance with EU standards. The primary objective of this trial shipment program is to enhance the export of agricultural spices, value-added products, and the overall agricultural industry in Rajasthan. This region is widely recognized for its outstanding coriander quality, and the initiative aims to further promote and strengthen this reputation.
