Challenges build character, what lessons we can draw from challenges eventually build our character. Learning to view challenges as opportunities to learn is however a skill we all can learn.

Happy New Week ahead!🌱💚 Here reflecting on some notes from Franklyn Institute of Leadership and Public Management Class moderated by Dr. Odama Emmanuel, Ph.D; Why is self-motivation crucial for being a successful leader? 1) To overcome the tough times of challenge and controversy. 2) To sharpen your edge for the flight, and to remain relevant. Mac Anderson: "You can't send a duck to Eagle School," - Ducks cannot become eagles! "Good people are found, not changed." "They can change themselves, but you can't change them." "If you want good people, you have to find them. Don't hire mediocre people and try to train them." "If you want motivated people, you have to find them... not try to motivate them." No one can motivate you enough and leave you that way for the rest of your life. Don't wait for others to push you: push yourself going!

Stand up for what is right. Protect vulnerable people. Be an upstander, intervene, stop, report, violence and abuse at work, in the home and in public places. Support the victim!! Stallone once said 'Live for nothing or die for something. Worth sharing. #justice #standup Never get tired of watching this (short) video that shows how normal it is not to say or do anything when somebody has been wronged or harmed. We need more upstanders! Having the ability to stand up and intervene against injustices will protect many vulnerable others. Sadly, people who intervene are very much in the minority. *** I do not advocate that upstanders place themselves in danger.
