IndieBio NY's Unibaio just won a $1 million Grand Prize at Grow-NY, a six-round competition sponsored by New York State designed to nurture economic growth across the rich farming areas of New York's Finger Lakes, Central and Southern Tier regions. Unibaio, which started out at IndieBio NY's BSL 2 lab in Manhattan, produces naturally derived particles that trap the active ingredients of pesticides and fertilizers, enabling them to penetrate plants more efficiently.
