Indigenous Tourism Alberta’s Post

We are thrilled to have such a deep and meaningful partner in Travel Alberta. The organization has shown a real commitment to Indigenous-led tourism, both in its support of ITA and in its partnerships with many Indigenous tourism entrepreneurs. We value this partnership and look forward to seeing it further blossom alongside the Indigenous tourism industry in the future.

Indigenous tourism has the power to foster thriving communities, inspire deeper connections to the land, and create a platform to share stories and cultures with the world. At Travel Alberta, we are committed to supporting and amplifying First Nations, Métis and Inuit tourism operators, their stories and the rich tapestries of their cultures. This short film, developed and created in partnership with two Indigenous tourism operators, celebrates the sharing of cultures between Indigenous Peoples and travellers from around the world. The story is told through the eyes of two Indigenous tourism operators, Joe Urie (Storyteller - Métis Crossing) and Jeanette Many Guns (Many Guns Ranch and Adventures). "The Buffalo is our connective tissue. All of ours. Embrace that. Embrace the Buffalo.” - Joe Urie, Storyteller, Métis Crossing and Owner/operator, Jasper Tour Company
