Reflecting on an incredible experience this July at the Summer School in Indonesia! Over two transformative weeks, I had the unique opportunity to dive deep into the world of business in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region. The program was a perfect blend of academic rigor and cultural immersion. Highlights included: - Company Visits: We explored various businesses and institutions, gaining practical insights into the local economy and business environment. - Lectures by Esteemed Professors: Learning from leading Indonesian professors helped us understand the economic context and the intricacies of doing business in this vibrant region. - Cultural Immersion: From local traditions to daily life, the social and cultural activities were eye-opening and enriching. These experiences were instrumental in deepening our connection with the culture and our peers. This summer school wasn't just about academic growth but also about forming meaningful connections and embracing the local culture and values. 🌍 I’m incredibly grateful for this experience and for the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with so many talented individuals. Looking forward to applying these insights in my future endeavors! #SummerSchool #Indonesia #BusinessInsights #CulturalImmersion"

When I first heard about the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards program held by Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia), I was completely indifferent. To be honest, the idea of applying for this exchange program was not my own. A close friend of mine strongly encouraged me to apply, and despite my initial reluctance, I decided to give it a try. My expectations were quite low, and I didn’t think much of the possibility of being accepted. However, the acceptance email came as a surprise, I was accepted to Prince of Songkla University in Thailand. Although I had no prior knowledge about Thailand, I was personally relieved that the university was relatively close to my home country in Southeast Asia. The selection process was a journey of unexpected challenges and personal growth. I faced three main obstacles: - Financial Hurdle: I had to take the Duolingo English Test (cost ~60 USD/940,000 IDR), an amount I struggled to afford. It was a financial stretch, but I managed to cover the cost from getting a loan and meet the requirement. - Solo Effort: Writing the essay was another challenge. Despite reaching out to previous IISMA awardees and peers for feedback, no one was willing to assist. I ended up proofreading and correcting my essay entirely on my own. - Physical Strain: Perhaps the most daunting challenge was undergoing the interview a day before a significant surgery. The physical pain I endured made the experience even more intense. Through these challenges, I discovered an essential lesson: the essence of being "lucky" often involves pushing through significant hardships. My friend's insistence on completing the process, despite my own doubts, pushed me to persevere. It was a test of resilience and determination. I’m excited to explore how educational systems in Thailand differ from those in Indonesia and how various approaches to student learning compare. This experience has not only made me more independent but also sharpened my skills in navigating information and problem-solving. A special thank you goes to my mentor, Firda Fardina, whose detailed and personal guidance was very valuable for this journey. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

Hi network! For this post, I’m excited to share one of the rewarding experiences from my degree journey—being part of the Program and Protocol Bureau for the Service Learning Malaysia University for Society (SULAM) Project: Forum Suara Borneo: Bahasa Tanpa Sempadan on July 9th, 2021. This forum was more than an academic event; it was a platform to embrace Malaysia's linguistic and cultural richness. It allowed us to explore the beauty of minority languages while emphasizing the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. 🏅 Event Overview: The forum explored the minority languages and ethnic groups in Sabah and Sarawak, focusing on sociolinguistic aspects. Three inspiring panelists represented the Iban, Kayan, and Dusun ethnic groups, each sharing the unique features of their languages. Attendees were exposed to a deeper appreciation for the diversity and richness of Malaysia's linguistic heritage. 💭 Personal Experience and Reflection: Contributing to this forum taught me the importance of embracing diversity and the critical need to protect endangered languages. Collaborating with a dedicated team made the experience even more impactful, as we navigated challenges and ensured a successful event. 💡 Skills and Insights Gained: •Cultural Awareness: Deepened my understanding of Malaysia’s rich heritage. •Organizational Skills: Enhanced my ability to manage details and work effectively under pressure. •Team Collaboration: Strengthened my communication and problem-solving abilities. Being part of this initiative emphasized the responsibility we all share in preserving linguistic and cultural diversity. It’s vital to celebrate our differences and safeguard traditions for future generations. Although I don’t have any photos, I’ve attached my Program and Protocol Bureau certificate to mark this memorable experience.

🌟 Stepping into the Unknown: My Journey of Growth 🌟 Applying for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2024 held by Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan wasn’t just another step in my academic journey—it was a leap into the unknown, a deliberate choice to push myself beyond the familiar and embrace the challenges ahead. Competing alongside so many outstanding Indonesian students, I realized this was the perfect opportunity to grow, learn, and redefine my boundaries. Here’s what I learned along the journey: ✨ Self-Discovery: Before diving into the application, I took time to reflect on my core values, motivations, and aspirations. This self-reflection was crucial in crafting an authentic narrative for my essay and preparing effectively for the interview. 🗨 Leveraging Feedback: Receiving feedback from mentors and peers proved to be immensely valuable. It guided me in refining my application, addressing areas for improvement, and enhancing my overall approach. 🚀 Growth Outside Comfort Zone: The application process demanded more than just academic skills. It required me to step into the unknown, face challenges head-on, and embrace the uncertainty that comes with growth. Each step outside my comfort zone was a step toward becoming a stronger, more resilient version of myself. Now, as a IISMA 2024 Awardee, I am excited to embark on a new chapter at Hanyang University - ERICA. This journey has broadened my horizons and strengthened my resolve to embrace future challenges with confidence. A special thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. And a shoutout to Kak Kevin Khalfani for the valuable guidance on personal branding. #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

This journey began with a dream, but what truly matters is the process behind it. In December 2023, I started preparing for the Indonesia International Student Mobility Award (IISMA), a step that required careful planning and a lot of perseverance. Over the months, I faced many challenges: writing essays, going through tough selections, and building a personal brand that reflects who I really am. Every step was tough, but each obstacle was an opportunity to learn, grow, and move closer to my dream. Finally, on May 9, 2024, all the hard work paid off: I was accepted into IISMA and got into Hanyang University, the university I’ve always dreamed of. 🌱 This experience taught me that satisfying results don’t come easy. They require dedication, self-belief, and the courage to keep moving forward even when things are uncertain. Personal branding isn’t just about how you appear to others; it’s about how you face every challenge with integrity and passion. I hope this journey inspires you to never give up on your dreams. Every small step is an important part of the bigger journey that will lead you to where you want to be. ✨ Achmad Abdillah Pasha Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Hanyang University #ToInclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

🔸 Indonesia International Student Mobility Award 🔸 Securing the IISMA scholarship was a grueling journey. Competing against Indonesia's brightest minds pushed me to my limits. The process was demanding, but the reward was immeasurable. I am profoundly grateful for this incredible opportunity. My key takeaways are: 1. Overcoming my struggle 🤺 : In my essay application, I wrote about my struggle adapting to a new environment and climbing my way through. At this moment I realized how much I had grown to be better and resilience. 2. Reaching out 🙋♂️ : My initial essay draft was unsatisfactory. Seeking feedback, I turned to a friend for a review. Additionally, I connected with fellow IISMA applicants to exchange essays. Through this collaborative process, I discovered the immense value of diverse perspectives. Constructive criticism proved to be an invaluable fuel for growth, exceeding my expectations. 3. Effort yields results 💎 : Months of rigorous research, writing, and interviews culminated in a period of intense anticipation. To maintain balance during this stressful time, I turned to cycling, a beloved hobby that offered mental refresh. When I finally found out I got the IISMA scholarship, it showed me that if you work hard, good things happen. 🔸But the journey doesn't end here. I will continue my journey of resilience at Cardiff and Vale College student in the United Kingdom. I feel happy and grateful for my journey. ✨ "Success is the outcome, but it's the journey of development that truly defines a great person." ✨ Shout out to Almira Sadiya for valuable lesson for personal Branding #ToinclusivityAndBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding
