🎮 Mobile Game Retention Rates: Why the Drop by Day 30? 📉 The mobile gaming industry thrives on engagement, but data shows that most games lose a significant portion of their players within the first 30 days. Why is this happening? 🤔 Is it lackluster gameplay, insufficient updates, poor onboarding, or maybe the allure of shiny new competitors? What keeps you hooked to a game long-term, or what makes you hit “uninstall”? In my experience, sustainable retention often lies in a mix of personalization, community building, and consistent value addition for players. 💡 What are your thoughts? As a developer, marketer, or gamer, how do you see this challenge being tackled? Let’s discuss below! #MobileGaming #RetentionStrategies #GameDesign #CustomerEngagement

3 Reasons ‘’why’’ player retention matters and will reign supreme in mobile video games. Devs often overlook this When they find a good ‘’CPI’’ and over look the retention rate Their game eventually fails, big time. Retention is the ‘’FOUNDATION’’ for long-term success in mobile games. Why? 1. Sustainable Revenue Growth Players who stay engaged, likely to make in-app purchases and generate high-consistent revenue. 2. Lower Acquisition Costs Focusing on retention reduces the need for new user acquisition, Lowering overall app marketing costs. 3. Enhanced Player Experience Enables to custom-tailor relevant content and updates, Which brings more players back. High retention strategy will lead you to Richer & More rewarding player experience. Long story short: Prioritize Retention for Lasting Success What is your retention strategy? Cheers! PS: Are you watching the Olympics 2024? There is a lot going on with the shooting competition, and funny enough, I find that very relatable in video games, though its just a meme... #mobilegames #videogames #gamedesign

Are you interested in designing your game or product for: 1/3 of your audience 2/3 of your audience 3/3 of your audience (100%) If you want 1/3, make it single player only. If you want 2/3, make it multiplayer only. If you want 100%, make it single player and multiplayer. This is a rule of thumb that has worked for a wide variety of genres and platforms since my casual online days in the aughts. Why? While sources vary, introverts comprise approximately 15-30% of the population, while conversely, extroverts also comprise a minority. More are considered ambiverts– estimated as high as 68% by Professor Barry Smith of the University of Maryland. But ambiverts gravitate back and forth... sometimes they need quiet time, but other times they welcome community or competition. RPGs and open world games are great examples of this. Imagine a player who might want to explore on their own, but then meet up with their friends for a raid. The popularity of online gaming has driven more consumers towards multiplayer play, especially for younger audiences, many of whom have never experienced the single player "taking turns" era of video gaming. #gamedevelopment #marketresearch #consumerbehavior #motivation

Love this article about mobile gaming in ExchangeWire! Not only are rewarded video ad formats preferred to in-app purchases, but 62% of app developers have noticed an uptick in user retention after implementing them! Mobile gaming is constantly having to dispel myths ... like the long-held belief that gaming was the preserve of young lads who hung out in dimly lit basements chugging Red Bull and eating pizza. While it's true that 66% of men play mobile games, it's also true that 70% of women play - mobile gaming has developed into a space without exclusion. Men and women, young and old. As an 90s kid, I deeply treasure memories of playing games like Mario and Battle City with my friends/Cousins. When I came across the consoles from Old School Station, I couldn’t resist buying one to relive the nostalgia. Yes, its an indigenously made, all in one, slick USB-sized console, that has all the games we have ever played on all consoles. Needless to say, full versions. It simply meant, me and my wife playing Battle City battles for hours, versus binging webseries. And a fanboy moment came for me when the founders gave us an opportunity to enhance the buying journey for fellow retro gamers. With OpenInApp, the product saw a 4.45x improvement in conversion rates and a 3.75x increase in their engagements. Attaching a detailed case study If you run meta ads and you'd like us to do an audit of your conversion funnels or your analytics/attribution workflows, just comment "audit," and we will we be happy to get a few experts from our side on a call with you Link to buy the product in Comments #ConversionRates #D2C #DTC #PerformanceMarketing #CRO #ConversionRateOptimization #MetaAds #InstaAds
