Emirates ramps up preparations for a seamless Hajj-centric experience This Hajj season, Emirates is geared up to serve the large volume of pilgrims making their way from the airline’s global network through Dubai, to Jeddah and Medina to perform the once in a lifetime Muslim pilgrimage. Emirates has been working hard throughout every travel touchpoint of the journey to ensure comfortable experience, both in the air and on the ground for pilgrims heading to Makkah for this significant trip. Additional flights to Jeddah and Medina Emirates has deployed 10 additional flights between 7 Jun and 10 June, and between 21 June and 26 June to carry pilgrims to Jeddah and Medina. These flights have been carefully timed to meet the flight schedules from key markets for Hajj, including Indonesia, Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritius, South Africa, Senegal and Pakistan The additional flights are operated alongside Emirates’ scheduled services to the two Saudi gateways, and provide increased choice and options for thousands of travellers from across the airline's global network to carry out one of the key pillars of Islam. The 10 airline routes with the highest revenues for the first half of 2023. Domestic Routes Take the Lead Domestic flights comprised six of the 10 largest revenue-generating flights, with Sydney to Melbourne ranking first at $1.21 billion. In addition, flight revenues from Riyadh to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia surpassed those of major domestic American routes. Top International Routes New York to London, one of the busiest and most profitable routes globally, had 3.88 million scheduled airline seats for the full year of 2023. The route generated $1.15 million in revenues in the first half of the year, representing a 37% increase compared to the same period in 2019. Flydubai has announced the launch of daily flights to Islamabad and Lahore starting July 1, 2024. The flights will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB), enhancing connectivity to Pakistan, a key market since 2010. The new routes join existing services to Karachi, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, and Sialkot, further expanding Flydubai's presence in Pakistan. The airline's Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidalla, highlighted the sustained demand for travel between the UAE and Pakistan. The flights will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, promising an enhanced travel experience for passengers.
