Happy holidays to everyone celebrating. No doubt 2024 has been a remarkable year for our Firm with transactions already counting for more than EUR30bn in deal value. It is not typical for the Danish market to have transactions of this magnitude, and we are very pleased to have been part of all of these landmark achievements. We are also very pleased to have welcomed so many wonderful new partners to the Firm. Our #NextLevel journey is also about adding leadership, experience and lighthouse competences to the top of the Firm. We believe in strong and clear leadership participation and direction in everything that we set out to do. This is also reflected in the Firm's position when it comes to situations where false moral equivalence is being displayed and moral clarity is shattered. That goes for the awful war in Ukraine and it goes for Israel's wars with its jihadi and genocidal terrorist adversaries. There are still 99 hostages in Gaza. One of them is a Danish citizen. The silence is chilling. There has been more press coverage and political interest in Denmark in a handful of Danish citizens and their children returning from voluntarily(!) joining and fighting for ISIS than about our Danish hostage in Gaza. Or about the hostages per se. Many from EU countries and the USA and UK. What a moral collapse. In times like these, it is also particularly important that we as lawyers and as law firms call out any attempts to corrupt the international legal systems that our leaders have put in place for just and meaningful purposes. We shall also call out the false use of defined terms in legal contexts, which can stir up civil unrest; like "genocide". Words do mean something. A TikTok video or Instagram post does not change that. We may for various reasons find it a little funny-evil to be thinking of Benjamin Netanyahu on the stand. But when it will be Danish soldiers who have fought our wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya that the ICC will be issuing arrest warrants for due to its illegal and expansive jurisdictional doctrine, then I am confident we will all be ashamed about our silence. A silence that our forefathers were ashamed of and therefor promised us: Never Again! Happy holidays - let us all remember why we can celebrate in peace. Salvation Through The Wilderness. #femiokikiola The wilderness is a hot and dry land, a place of hunger and thirst where things hardly grow. This is a dangerous place where we find all kinds of reptiles and scorpions. It is a very hostile place, difficult to survive. The time of jacob's trouble is an indication that we experience wilderness in life. Left alone in his camp, God came and wrestled with Jacob until daybreak (Genesis 32:24-29). Jacob suffered a number of loses in life. This, Joseph also experienced. David, Job, the three Hebrew Children, Jabez, the disciples of Christ, all had their wilderness experiences. Going through the profile of many high important personalities alive today, it may surprised us how many have had their own share of the wilderness experience. Some have overcome financial failure, business, family, health, career failures that led them into the wilderness where they had their own personal and unique experiences that altered their entire perception of life and breaking them down into knowing and understanding what life truly is. The wilderness is where we meet with God - burning bush, new name (divine) etc The wilderness experience can be a very challenging and unusual experience, yet, it is a place of depths which transforms our entire being, learning and taught by the practical lessons of life, itself Coming out of our wilderness, we cannot help but see life as a privilege and a gift to be valued. Our unique experiences help us to rely more on the supernatural power of God developing our intuition and spiritual antennas to guide our steps back through life. Hardly does anyone remain the same after the wilderness experience. No one has had an experience like this with God that has remained the same and without struggling, live a life of integrity. The wilderness experience makes us to know, fear and love God as we live a life led in wisdom. There is an aura that goes with them as they lived in all humility, grace and empathy. They are a people that live under a new covenant and led in the spirit to live a life according to His purpose.
