🚀 Survey Launch Day! 🚀   Yesterday, we sent out our annual MSc Employment Survey to our MSc alumni from the 2023 cohorts, a little under 2000 recipients. Survey responses are steadily rolling in, but that's not the only thing we're interested in at RSM.   Aside from the direct survey data itself, this email interaction with our alumni provides us with much more valuable insights. Here's a short overview:   📧 Email Metrics: Open rates, click rates, subscribes, and unsubscribes. We track, analyze, and improve upon them. No, we don't go full A/B testing, but simply moving a button or changing the wording of a survey intro can make all the difference.   🌐 Details & Data: Outdated email addresses, updates to addresses, name changes, and language preferences. By providing a means for our audience to update—and most importantly, control—these details directly from our emails we organically enrich our database over time.   ✅ Alumni Engagement: We ask a simple, but powerful question at the end of each email, web form, or survey: "Are you interested in learning more about [....]?"   This last question, though straightforward, is perhaps the most important to the RSM Alumni Office. It allows us to engage with our alumni on their specific interests, such as mentorship, volunteering, or workshops.   This question can open up the conversation and bring everything our community has to offer within reach of the alumni.   Got any questions or want to discuss your own approach? I am glad to share that today I have been officially selected by the INFORMS Membership Committee to be part of the summer 2024 class of INFORMS Senior members! The committee recognizes professional experience and commitment to INFORMS. It rewards INFORMS most dedicated members for their presence and involvement. Criteria for this recognition includes being regular member for five or more continuous years and meet at least 3 of the following 4 requirements: (1) current member of at least one INFORMS section, society, chapter, or forum (2) in the past five years, attended at least one INFORMS event (3) in the past five years, volunteered your time to contribute to the INFORMS community and completed at least one term or project. Examples: service as a community officer, on a committee, on an editorial board, as a mentor, in the Pro Bono Analytics program, or another project. (4) earned a Top Contributor badge for engagement on INFORMS Connect. I hope to keep involved in this incredibly great professional community in Operations Research and the Management Sciences!
