3moThank you, Tolu and Uma, for sharing this insightful article! I completely agree with your perspective. From my recent experience, I’ve leveraged generative AI to migrate non-movable legacy monolithic applications by converting their code into microservices running on serverless containers. While this technology was instrumental in making the process possible, it didn’t replace the need for architects and developers. The project still required hands-on effort—coding in Visual Studio, managing pipelines in Azure DevOps, rigorous testing, and careful oversight at every stage. Generative AI served as a powerful enabler, but it wasn’t a substitute for the expertise and judgment of skilled professionals. We’re far from a world where architects and developers become obsolete. Instead, I see AI as a complement that enhances human capabilities, especially in tackling complex transitions like this.
