🎄 Meet Cheryl and Sandy, Our Office Elves! 🎄 The holiday season is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to spread some joy! Our wonderful office elves, Cheryl and Sandy, are once again leading the Adopt a Family initiative with the Salvation Army. This year, they are supporting a family of five children and a lovely senior lady. Cheryl shares her heartfelt motivation: “I have a major soft spot for all kids. The thought of children doing without is heartbreaking. I love imagining their smiles on Christmas Day when they see all the presents under the tree.” Sandy adds, “The need is always so great, and the recipients are always so grateful. Last year, because of everyone’s generosity, we were able to support the Food Bank as well, which was incredibly rewarding. This initiative inspires me and has given me respect for all the charitable organizations’ hard work.” For 20 years, this Christmas drive has been a cherished tradition at Ing & McKee, thanks to Cheryl and Sandy’s dedication. They emphasize that this wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our amazing team. “I’m proud of what a caring office we have,” Cheryl mentions. While it’s sad that more families are in need of help, we can come together to create some Christmas magic! You can support families like this through the Salvation Army. Let’s make a difference in our community this holiday season! ✨ Happy Holidays from Ing & McKee! ✨ #AdoptAFamily #CommunitySpirit #IngAndMcKee #HolidayGiving

Reflecting on the Spirit of Thanksgiving. With half of our colleagues being US-based, Thanksgiving is a holiday very much within our collective consciousness at iM Global Partner. A break from the usual routine to spend time with family and friends and, of course, to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. But we understand it’s also more than just a holiday - it’s a time to reflect, express gratitude for all that we have, and also for the opportunities that we have to make a difference. This year, my usual trip to our Walnut Creek office happily coincided with our office activity to pack Thanksgiving food boxes for SHELTER, Inc., an organisation dedicated to helping families rebuild their lives by providing a home, resources, and the skills needed to live the lives they deserve. These boxes were donated by Shelter to families who would not otherwise be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner, ensuring that they could celebrate the holiday. Organised by Laura White and Alicia Sasuga (thank you both!), the office was transformed into a lively makeshift market, as workstations were laden with different food items, which we carefully placed in the boxes. With each box that we filled, we handwrote a short note to wish the recipient families a Happy Thanksgiving and reflected on how easy it is to take for granted all that we have. To quote Helen Keller “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴”, this feels particularly apt when I think about that afternoon. By taking just an hour or so out of our day, we were able to bring comfort and cheer to others going through a difficult time. As you can see from the photos below, it also brought happiness and cheer to each of us. With the Thanksgiving holiday now behind us, and Christmas ahead, I hope that we all continue to carry this spirit with us—not just during the holiday season but throughout the year— finding ways to ‘bring cheer to others’ and make a positive difference in the lives of those around us. #ActOfGiving #Charity #Philanthropy #Kindness #PeoplePerformance

I love this time of year as the holidays arrive in a whirlwind of traditions and events. Families share more time together, memories continue to be made and traditions continue to be had. Whether the tradition is to decorate together, to cook/bake the holiday meal(s) together, to have that perfect white Christmas, to invite your non-Jewish friends over to light the menorah and play dreidel, to volunteer in the community together, or to watch your favorite Christmas movie on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning in your jammies -- the tradition is something that you look forward to. Personally, no tradition is truly as extraordinary as one that benefits others. Regardless of the circumstances, there is the harsh reality that many families are struggling just to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. There simply isn't enough left for these parents to even think about gifts for their children at this special time of year. Organizations that service the less fortunate find the holidays bring with them an escalated need for supplies, often experiencing bare shelves. The holiday season is the perfect time to reach out to others -- adopting a family or group; working at a soup kitchen or food pantry; donating toys and gifts,; helping pay a strangers monthly bill; etc. These are only a few suggestions -- there are so many other needs in our communities. In addition, we cannot forget to be sensitive as there are some people that the holiday season can be a very difficult (and emotional) time and they need us to reach out to them. Time is always a very valuable gift we can give others. The season of giving provides an excellent opportunity for kids of any age to make a difference and spread joy within their communities. One way we can all make an impact is to share your service work with others to inspire more people to get involved. Can you imagine if each of us extends ourselves - just a little - and helps to make a difference in Someone's life? #HolidaySeason #SeasonOfGiving #MakeADifference #Traditions #HelpingOthers #0thersBeforeSelf #Gratitude #Blessing

"I don’t know if this was your experience, but as a child, I remember waking up on Christmas morning to a tree lit with colorful lights and a few gifts waiting underneath. The excitement, the laughter—it was pure magic. But for so many families in our community, this moment doesn’t exist." Here at BOSS, we meet parents who spend sleepless nights worrying, not about what they’ll give their kids for the holidays, but if they’ll have a warm place to sleep or enough to eat. We meet kids who only know the holidays as another day of hardship without the joy, hope, and love that so many of us treasure. That’s why we created the Adopt A Family: Hope for the Holiday Drive—because everyone deserves to feel the magic of the season and to know they’re seen, valued, and supported. When you participate, you’re not just giving gifts—you’re giving hope. You’re showing a parent that they’re not alone. You’re reminding a child that they matter. This holiday season, let’s ensure that every family feels the warmth of community and the joy of the season. Whether you adopt a family, make a donation, or volunteer, your kindness can light up someone’s holiday. 📩 Learn how to get involved: https://lnkd.in/ggNpJmCe Let’s be the reason someone smiles this holiday season. #AdoptAFamily #HopeForTheHolidays #BOSSCommunity #HolidayGiving

“I don’t have time.” We’ve all said it. To ourselves, to others, when life feels like a constant sprint. Work demands pile up, emails don’t stop, and the days blur together. Especially in December. But here’s what I’ve realized: when we make time for something outside of ourselves—like volunteering in our communities—it doesn’t drain us. It refuels us. I snapped this after spending it with Toys for Tots, helping local parents "shop" a field of donated toys so their kids wake up with a little more joy on Christmas morning. Much thanks to Bonita Fire's Bev Gervasi (center) who organized all the elves (even with my "Sleigh What?" shirt, I am still much less festive than Anna, chief elf, right.🌲) I walked away not with less energy, but more. More gratitude. More perspective. More clarity. And surprisingly, the work I “didn’t have time for” still got done. 💡 Here’s the truth: When you give to others, you’re also giving back to yourself. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or buried in work, I’d encourage you to try something counterintuitive: give a little of your time away. You’ll be amazed by what you get in return. How has giving back changed your outlook? I’d love to hear your experiences. Happy holidays all! #Volunteering #LeadershipInAction #CommunityImpact #happyholidays

I don’t share much of my personal life in LinkedIn but when I feel proud have to share it.🙏💙 A truly proud moment seeing our youngest volunteers at @toydriveandevents! Our grandchildren are helping sort toys and learning about the mission we’ve been passionate about for years. Ethan has been attending our Toy Drives since he was a baby—9 years strong! While our other grandkids aren’t ready for “Breakfast with Santa” just yet, we’re excited to involve them next season. For now, we’re keeping the focus on those who need it most, but even our toddler has noticed the toys and never asked for one. 🥰🙏 We take time to explain why it’s important to give and how our foundation is helping make a difference. As we approach our cut-off date of December 6th, we reflect on gratitude—the quality of being thankful and returning kindness. As we enter the last month of 2024, we’re filled with so much appreciation for all the support we’ve received since starting our nonprofit. 15 holiday seasons later, we still feel the same emotions, even a few tears, as we look back on all the memories. That’s what truly matters: the drive to continue helping low-income children and families in need. Let’s make 2024 the best year yet! 🥳🙏🥰 #Gratitude #ToyDrive #HolidaySeason #GivingBack #CommunitySupport #Blessed #Nonprofit #ToyDriveAndEvents #FamilyGiving #MakingMemories #ReflectAndGive Highlight

🎄 Giving Back This Holiday Season: Let’s Spread Some Kansas City Cheer! 🎁 The holiday season is here, Kansas City friends! It’s the time for cozy sweaters, way too much hot cocoa (if there’s such a thing), and, most importantly, giving back. Improving our community starts with small, intentional acts of kindness—and Kansas City offers countless ways to make a difference. Whether you’re rolling solo or want to get the whole family involved, there’s something for everyone. Here are some ideas to get you started: 1️⃣ Volunteer Together • Harvesters Community Food Network: Spend a morning sorting and packing food for families in need. Pro tip: Kids over 8 can join, so it’s a great way to teach the little ones about giving back. • Operation Breakthrough: Help brighten the holidays for local kids by volunteering or donating gifts. Their annual toy drive is the perfect excuse to relive your childhood dreams in the toy aisle. 2️⃣ Serve a Hot Meal • Kansas City Community Kitchen: They’ve got this down to a science, serving hot meals with dignity. Volunteer as a family to dish out warm food—and warmer smiles. 3️⃣ Share Warmth • Project Warmth KC: Donate coats, blankets, and winter gear to help neighbors stay cozy during those chilly KC nights. Bonus: Cleaning out your closet feels oddly satisfying! 4️⃣ Support Local Families • Adopt-a-Family Programs: Organizations like Catholic Charities or The Salvation Army connect you with families to provide gifts, groceries, and cheer. It’s like being Santa, but without the chimney climbing. 5️⃣ Get Crafty for Good • Make holiday cards or ornaments as a family and drop them off at nursing homes or shelters. A little glitter goes a long way in spreading joy (just don’t ask me how to get it off your floor). Why It Matters When we take the time to give back, we’re not just helping others—we’re strengthening the fabric of our community. Plus, those warm fuzzies you feel after helping someone? Priceless. So, KC fam, what will YOU do this holiday season to make a difference? Share your ideas, and let’s inspire each other to turn kindness into action. Together, we can make Kansas City an even better place to call home. #KansasCity #GivingBack #CommunityFirst #HolidaySeason #SpreadKindness

Hanging Up the Red Suit for the Season As I take off the red Santa suit for another year, I can’t help but reflect on what an incredible journey this season has been. Over 1,100 selfies later, five “Shop with the Cops” events, and more than $40,000 raised for toys and jackets for underprivileged children through partnerships with the Salvation Army and the Detroit Athletic Club—it’s been a whirlwind of joy, generosity, and connection. For me, being Santa is about so much more than the suit, the beard, or the “Ho, ho, ho!” It’s about inclusion, belonging, and creating magic for everyone I meet. It’s about showing people—children and adults alike—that they matter, that they’re seen, and that kindness can make a difference. Although I’m hanging up the suit for now, the values it represents will continue to guide me year-round. Here are four ways being Santa has transformed not just the lives of those I meet but also my own: • Creating Moments of Joy: Whether it’s a child sharing their Christmas wish or a customer pausing for a photo, the magic of Santa reminds us all to find happiness in the little things. • Building a Sense of Belonging: By embracing every child and family with warmth and care, Santa fosters a space where everyone feels valued and included. • Inspiring Generosity: From rallying donations to seeing associates volunteer their time, the spirit of giving becomes contagious during the season. • Connecting Communities: Whether through events like “Shop with the Cops” or collaborations with organizations like the Salvation Army, being Santa bridges gaps and brings people together. This season may be over, but the mission is ongoing. Let’s continue to create inclusion, spread belonging, and live the magic every day—red suit or not. Thank you to everyone who made this holiday season unforgettable. See you next year! #BelongingBeginsHere #thisisthatplace #happyholidays2024 #IWorkAtWalmart

Thanksgiving is the best time to focus on gratitude and connect with the people who matter most. Here are 5 quick facts about the holiday: 1. It began in 1621 with the Pilgrims and Wampanoag celebrating their first harvest. 2. On this day families share what they’re thankful for before the meal. 3. Many give back by volunteering or donating to those in need. 4. It’s about gathering with loved ones, whether at family dinners or Friendsgiving. 5. Breaking the wishbone adds a playful tradition of hope for the future. More so, Thanksgiving reminds us that gratitude isn’t just for one day — it can brighten our everyday lives. By noticing the little things, saying a heartfelt “thank you,” or jotting down what we’re grateful for, we focus on what truly matters. Gratitude may seem small, but its impact is powerful. 😊 What are you thankful for today?

Celebrating Maximum Independence at Friendsgiving: A Reflection on Growth, Gratitude, and Community This year’s Friendsgiving celebration was more than just a gathering — it marked a milestone in the journey toward maximum independence for the individuals we serve. Achieving this level of independence is not just about reaching personal goals; it’s a reflection of the collective effort of the entire community. It’s about the partnerships, the support, and the shared vision that make moments like these possible. We are incredibly proud to witness the growth of those we serve, and Friendsgiving was the perfect occasion to celebrate that progress. It’s about individuals embracing their autonomy, making their own choices, and participating fully in the world around them. This event wasn’t just a luncheon; it was a testament to what happens when a community comes together to empower and uplift one another.
