The Power of Community Engagement in Business 💎As a young social entrepreneur, I’ve come to realize that building a business is not just about profit; it’s about making a positive impact in our communities. Recently, I initiated a project through our forum, Zambian Entrepreneurship club - ZEC we are calling it #Innovate #Together because it aims at empowering local youth through entrepreneurship training and mentorship. Here’s why I believe community engagement is essential for entrepreneurs: 🌟1. Fostering Innovation: By working closely with local youth, we tap into fresh ideas and perspectives. Their creativity inspires innovative solutions that can address community challenges. 🌟2. Building Trust: Engaging with the community helps build trust and strengthens relationships. When people see that your business cares, they become loyal supporters and advocates. 🌟3. Creating Opportunities: By investing in the community, we create job opportunities and contribute to local economic growth. This not only benefits the business but also enhances the overall well-being of the area. I encourage my fellow entrepreneurs to consider how they can engage with their communities. Let’s work together to uplift one another and create lasting change! What initiatives are you involved in? I’d love to hear about your experiences! #SocialEntrepreneurship #CommunityImpact #YouthEmpowerment #ZEC

Really looking forward to sharing my practice of “Alotmenteering” in this session on June 14th tickets link https://lnkd.in/e9gwcCEb text below from @create_north *************************************************unique opportunity for artists, creative practitioners, businesses, community activists, social entrepreneurs, and third-sector organisations to explore the transformative power of creative social entrepreneurship. Discover how creativity serves as a catalyst for change, contributing to environmental change. At this event, you will: Gain insights from Lady Kitt and Julie Ward, who have led a variety of green initiatives with significant positive impacts on the environment. In the interactive workshop, Kitt will share their practice of “Allotmenteering”. This involves building projects, commissions and activities around available resources, as opposed to planning work and then having to gather new materials, which is often expensive and environmentally unfriendly. The word comes from Kitt’s Culture Declares Emergency Pledge and references the way in which sheds are made on allotments from parts from older sheds, palettes and rubble which happen to be on the site already! This event is designed to be both informative and enjoyable, with the aim of motivating you to take immediate action. We believe in the power of creativity to inspire change, and this event is your opportunity to be part of that transformation. This event is free but places are limited. #cocreation #environmentalresponsibility #craft #craftivism #culturedeclaresemergency

🚀 Discover the Power of Networking at the CEC Conference! 🚀 Join Steven A Henness at the 2024 CEC Conference in Fulton for the first of a two-part series on the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program. Steven will share groundbreaking findings from his research on the CEO program's impact on high school students and their integration into the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. 🌱💡 🎤 "In my session, I'll highlight insights from our case study research conducted in 2022 and 2023. We'll explore how the CEO program immerses students in real-world entrepreneurial learning, particularly in rural contexts, and how it helps them develop an entrepreneurial mindset." Dr. Henness' research focused on the social capital students build through the program—how they form valuable contacts and strengthen networks that provide opportunities not only during high school but also as they move into college and their careers. His research showed that these relationships with mentors and influential adults often have lasting impacts, guiding their career paths and decisions on where to live and work. Dr. Henness says that a surprising finding of his research was how these programs also benefit and energize adults in the community. "Entrepreneurs, professionals, and volunteers all experience the ripple effects of coming together to support young people. This collective effort creates a vibrant, connected community." 🔍 Are you interested in how entrepreneurial programs can shape young minds and build networks? 🔍 Do you want to learn how to foster lasting relationships within your community? 🔍 Are you curious about the ripple effects of youth-focused initiatives on adults and the broader community? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this session designed to enhance your understanding of networking and relationship building in entrepreneurial ecosystems is for you. 🌟 The MU Extension Business & Communities CEC Fulton 2024 conference is supported by state sponsors Missouri AfterSchool Network, Codefi, and Center on Rural Innovation and is hosted by Callaway Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center. #Networking #RelationshipBuilding #CECConference2024 #Entrepreneurship #CommunityEngagement #YouthPrograms #SocialCapital #RuralInnovation

🌱 Event Recap: Youth Entrepreneurship in Green Economy 🌍 Our 2nd webinar for the Climate Incubator Mentorship Program was successfully held this morning (Apr 20). We are grateful for the insights shared by Kelvin Tsui and Rowely "Yen" Parico about their entrepreneurship experiences, challenges, and visions for a sustainable future. 🌍 Key Takeaways: ✅ Taking the first step: Even if you have great ideas, you can't go anywhere if you stay in your comfort zone. Taking action is crucial. ✅ Stay motivated: Believe what you are doing is meaningful. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share your mission, fostering knowledge exchange and mutual support. Remember to take breaks when necessary! ✅ Be genuine: Networking is not about what you can gain from others, but rather about learning from them. Be authentic if you want to cultivate lasting relationships. ✅ Find the right person: To establish long-term relationships with businesses, identify owners who have a genuine interest in your project and provide value to them. A healthy relationship should be mutually beneficial. ✅ Tips for writing funding proposal: Know your project well, learn from others and focus on the impact. Youth #entrepreneurship plays a vital role in the expanding green economy 🌱 . As governments and corporations allocate more funding, young individuals are encouraged to cultivate innovative ideas💡and explore opportunities in this promising field for building a sustainable future! 🌎 🙏 A massive thank you to all the speakers, attendees, and our team members for contributing to the resounding success of this webinar. We look forward to seeing you all in our next public webinar! #YouthEntrepreneurship #GreenEconomy #SustainabilityMatters #CreatingChange #Inspiration #Collaboration #Innovation #GreenEntrepreneurship #GreenWebinar #ClimateIncubator

Nothing better than meeting someone in person after seeing them only online and catching that glimmer of raw entrepreneurial spark that you rarely see. Recently, I had the pleasure of catching up with Cath Strachan in person following an event held at Aberdeen’s ONE Tech Hub by Scottish Business Network & The Scottish GovTech Cluster. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the fireside session with Mark Elliott, the head of CivTech Scotland. If you haven't had the chance to hear Mark Elliott speak, I highly recommend it, especially for those seeking to be innovative in the tech space. His insights are not only intriguing but refreshingly honest, and he has reshaped my perspective on engaging with and supporting the CivTech Scotland challenges. After the event, Cath and I took the opportunity to sit down and get to know each other. Beyond her evident entrepreneurial drive, Cath’s knowledge and her commitment to fostering meaningful connections to support SBN & Gov Tech is very inspiring and as a member of SBN, I am very grateful for her support in this. But that’s not the only string in Cath’s bow and somehow I knew it wouldn’t be 😉 I asked the question, “what else do you do aside from the SBN and the gov-tech stuff?” I am so glad I asked this question as Cath went on to give me some really great topics that I need to think about practically for succession planning in my business, Cath's not just got many strings to her bow she’s got multiple bows !!! So if someone now asks me what does Cath do my response will be “she will light a fire under that seat your sitting on so best get moving” 🔥🔥🔥 #Entrepreneurship #Networking #Gratitude #trust #goodadvice
