This photo is of one of the world’s largest geomorphic reclamation projects. The La Plata coal mine in the United States covers 743 hectares of land. Their challenge? How can we return a huge landscape to people and nature without increasing costs? Their outcome? Millions of dollars in environmental bonds have been released for over half of the land, which has been reintegrated with nature, and the other half is on its way. When human ingenuity and good intentions come together, great things happen. At VAST, we’ve designed over 700 hectares of geomorphic landforms with mining companies like LKAB and Viscaria, helping them return their sites to people and nature. Oriole Resources paving the way for Cameroon’s first gold mine Oriole Resources PLC (LON:ORR) is an AIM-quoted gold exploration company which has discovered a potential new gold district in Cameroon, and exploration programmes there have culminated in the signing of earn-in agreements at its Bibemi and Mbe projects. Very dedicated,” says Rosser. “We've got an excellent position in two countries, in particular in Cameroon, where we're leading the way to develop what we hope will be a significant gold mining industry.
