Great insight from David Mihm. There are so many changes these days with the Google user experience. They are facing pressure from all sides -- new competition, market saturation, high expectations from shareholders. As David discusses, there is documented evidence that Google has encouraged juicing the number of searches customers are performing for each session across several verticals. https://lnkd.in/gpRVSnui

🏷️ New release - if you're running Google Shopping Promotions in the US, Google will start showing the offers in the address bar while shoppers browse on site. Why does this matter? This is a big one for encouraging users to convert once they're already on site. If you've got a lot of products to browse, or a particularly complex site, users can forget what brought them there in the first place (the offer). Could also encourage alternative purchases, as it will show the different offers as users view different products onsite. Google is trying to improve the full user journey - syncing up what users see on the SERPs with the experience that they're getting on site - which *should* be a positive for most all retailers. (Of course, if you don't think it will be of benefit, then there is the option to opt out of individual promotions being shared in this way through GMC, or opt out altogether through our favourite - the Google form 🙄). I also think it's a pretty big deal to see them using their different properties (GMC, GAds and Chrome) to do this. Shout out to Andy Peck for the original spot! #google #googleads #ppc #ppcchat

Let’s be clear: Not all #adtech vendors see the #Sandbox as an issue. Given Google’s dominant position in the market, some vendors might see collaboration with the #PrivacySandbox as a strategic move to stay relevant and competitive — a decision made easier thanks to the testing grants #Google is offering. With that said, there are other companies who aren’t as acquiescent. They don’t want to back the Sandbox while their concerns that it could further solidify Google’s dominance over advertising go untempered. To many of them, doing so now would be akin to buying a car before standardized and transparent crash tests have been conducted.
