#Huawei is supporting future FTTx technological advancements for Orange Group. During February 2024 field trial, #Orange connected a residential fiber customer to a dedicated 50G-PON equipment on an operational #FTTH infrastructure in France, having other commercial customers also connected via G-PON and XGS-PON. The real measured data traffic has exeeded 41 Gbps on the link of the customer connected to the 50G-PON, while maintaining the quality of the connections for the other customers. This field trial demonstrated the maturity of the 50G-PON system provided by Huawei and thus ensuring the longevity of Orange’s FTTH networks. The 50G-PON technology has been standardised by ITU-T since 2021 as the post-10 Giga solution, this technology allows speeds of up to 50 Gbps and will operate in coexistence with G-PON and XGS-PON technologies, simplifying its future introduction. We are ready to upgrade Orange Romania residential fiber optics networks in Romania with the latest PON technologies and ultimately to improve the global ranking of the country. Loopholes are enabling critical equipment such as wireless access points, routers, switches, and radio equipment to be imported from China. Joint network by Telia & Telenor (Suomen Yhteisverkko Oy) closed down 3G900 recently and activated LTE900. The network has now four sub-1 GHz technologies deployed: LTE800 + LTE700 + LTE900 + 5G700. Cool! Example test results below in weak signal far away from the base station. A few notes from my testing: 1) LTE800 + 5G700 gives great performance 2) most sub-1 GHz carrier aggregation combos are not supported by devices 3) LTE700 uplink suffers from cross-border TV interference. The country border is 60 km away. 4) LTE800 loading is higher than other bands.
