Here are the kinds of things we and our prestigious judges are looking for: 🟣 Champion of health equity in their company/the industry 🟣 Speaks out and invests energy in tackling gender health gap in their company/ in the industry 🟣 Champions and implements SAGER/MESSAGE guidelines 🟣 Analyses disaggregated data to look for gender differences 🟣 Works to bridge gender health gaps for males/females 🟣 Considers gender/ethnicity more broadly in health and wellbeing You don't need to fulfil all the criteria to be nominated. All genders welcome. Deadline for submissions is Fri 31 Jan. The award ceremony is taking place on the morning of Fri 14 March in London to which the finalists and their nominees will be invited. ⭐⭐CONNECTORx CORNERx⭐⭐ PHARMACY STRATEGY: Embrace Equity This is the theme of this year's International Women's Day (IWD) and should be part of your organization strategic plan to embrace. Equity and equality are inherently different concepts. "The IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme seeks to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough" - and can in fact be exclusionary, rather than inclusive." Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. "People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action." Another proud moment for #GSKPoland! Wojciech Skrudlik, our Global Hub Lead, on behalf of 30% Club Poland participated in a thought-provoking discussion at IMPACT'24. The panel focused on "Building harmony in society" and explored how social policies can shape healthy intergender relationships through cooperation and communication. "Addressing gender inequalities is crucial. We must provide holistic support, including legal regulations and parity in company leadership. Additionally, targeted programs for specific groups, such as single mothers, girls in STEM or women going through menopause, are essential. “More focus on Women's health now!” was my appeal at the 4GAMECHANGERS Festival. Alongside Maimuna Mosser (Google), Lara Pyko (Siemens), Maria Rauch-Kallat, Nicole Reitinger (IKEA) and Begonia Vazquez Merayo, I had the privilege to discuss the measures, successes, and failures in achieving gender equality. Despite our - women's - pivotal role in society, our needs, especially our health needs, are often overlooked. A study presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos reveals that this neglect causes an annual economic loss of one trillion dollars. In Austria, too, a gender gap persists in healthcare. Women tend to live longer but spend significantly more years in poor health than men. Conditions like cardiovascular diseases and endometriosis are frequently disregarded or misdiagnosed.  It's time to close these gaps. Women must be empowered to take their health more seriously. Simultaneously, healthcare professionals need education on recognizing typical female symptoms to ensure better care. Together, we can create an inclusive, fair, and accessible healthcare system where no woman is overlooked.
