The next in the intermittent bluffer's guide series looks at land & expand (thanks to Lindsay for the idea!). It does tie quite nicely into my post from last week - the large team approach to consulting has a time and a place, but sometimes some very targeted support can give the value that is needed to drive transformation and help to build internal capability.
Bluffers Guide to Consulting part 2 - Land and Expand One of the stereotypes in consulting is 'land and expand' - you bring in one consultant, and before you know it there are 20 there. Many companies are reliant upon external support for driving transformation - by definition transformation involves doing something that you haven't done before. With a focus on costs you need to make sure that you can get the right help at the right time. This is possible without fear of being over-run (or of ending up wearing rabbit ears).
