Requirements: - 2-3 years of experience in software testing. - Understand priorities. Be able to prioritize things like what should be tested first, which test cases to be automated/manual, and which bug fix should be verified. - Determine bugs. Able to identify more critical bugs and report them with complete details.  - Testing ideas. Able to generate a number of ideas to test the product differently, to cover every aspect of the product. - Effective bug reporting. Able to report the bug effectively. All the needed information like steps to reproduce, details of the test environment, test data used, relevant screenshots and video, build version, etc.helps in fixing bugs faster. - Experience in creating a test automation framework, using the latest and relevant tools. - Knowledge of different technologies and approaches to automation. - Deep understanding of which test cases should be selected for automation. - Proficiency with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit). - Develop and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using appropriate tools and frameworks. - Able to set up a pipeline for the testing process. - Be able to manage resources and delegate tasks. Software developers often say they hate hiring QA. The reasons are common, but the issues are fixable. Here are a few reasons why and potential solutions…. Reason: “They didn’t provide enough documentation to reproduce the bug easily” Solution: HOT TAKE - testers should ALWAYS provide screenshots of the bug and the steps leading up to how they produced it. There needs to be more than just a summary title of the bug. There should also be good detailed logging infrastructure the devs provide to make it easier to debug. Reason:“Testers do the bare minimum and only test exactly what you ask.” Solution: “Involve the tester with your product development and explain how the product should work. AND pay them well. Reason: “Testers file bugs that aren’t really bugs. They’re often false positives.” Solution: Usually this comes down to a lack in communication about how the product should work. Sometimes, a product update has occurred, and the dev team didn’t inform QA that the behavior has changed. Engineers should proactively let the testers know the product behavior has changed to avoid this. #softwaretesting #softwareengineering #milestones
