You are Gen T - and there is no turning back. As a #space #podcaster, I've had the privilege to converse with brilliant minds that gaze into the stars, dreaming of the next #frontier. Yet, the final frontier isn't just beyond our atmosphere; it's also within the intricate digital ecosystems we're weaving right here on #Earth. At this year's SXSW, futurist Amy Webb presented a compelling #outlook for the technological landscape of 2024, introducing the concept of a technological #supercycle. This isn't just about one transformative technology, but a "perfect storm" of three converging fields: ➡️ Artificial intelligence, ➡️ Connected ecosystems of things, and ➡️ Biotechnology. Such a confluence, Webb argues, places our generation, #GenT, at the heart of a transition into something profoundly new and #uncharted. The parallel between exploring space and navigating this technological supercycle is striking. Just as we push the boundaries of space exploration, seeking new worlds and knowledge, we are now on the #cusp of a digital era that promises to #redefine human existence. Webb's observation that large language models are voraciously consuming internet data and may soon hunger for new sources to sustain AI's path towards Artificial General Intelligence (#AGI) underscores the magnitude of this shift. The anticipated surge of connected devices collecting data at unprecedented scales could feed AI systems in ways we've only begun to imagine. What do you think is the potential of edge computing in space? 🤔 "Moving computing closer to sensors can significantly reduce related downlink and on-ground infrastructure costs. By extracting valuable insights (for example, using AI algorithms), we can prioritize the transfer of high-value information directly to users much faster. Additionally, space systems like satellites can become more robust and autonomous by analyzing data streams directly on-board. This allows for better health monitoring of satellites and optimization of mission goals for entire constellations." 2. How do you manage to balance work and a baby? 👶 "I wish a day had more than 24 hours 😁 , but like any new parent, I manage thanks to the support of my incredibly tolerant and lovely wife. She handles many responsibilities, allowing us to spend much of our free time together as a family." Participating in the 2-day DataThrone Hackathon organised by Lucent Innovation and WebOccult was an exhilarating journey into the dynamic world of Machine Learning, Data Science, and AI. Alongside my talented team members - Deep Bhuva, Purani Parth, Jay Agravat, and Dhruvik Khakhriya- we embarked on a quest to push the boundaries of innovation and problem-solving. 🚀 From the outset, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation as teams gathered to tackle real-world challenges. 💡 Over the course of the event, we encountered a myriad of obstacles that tested our ingenuity and determination. Yet, it was through overcoming these challenges together that we truly thrived. The collaborative spirit within our team was palpable, as we brainstormed ideas, analysed data, and iterated on our models with unwavering dedication. 🤝 In retrospect, the experience was not just about winning accolades or prizes, but about the invaluable lessons learned and the bonds forged along the way. 🤖 We thank Lucent Innovation and WebOccult Technologies Pvt.
