🚀 The European Innovation Council's (EIC) 2025 Work Programme is unlocking unprecedented opportunities for deep-tech innovators with a total of €1.4 billion in funding. Designed to propel groundbreaking ideas, the programme is especially relevant for startups, SMEs, and researchers aiming to create scalable solutions for global challenges. 1️⃣ STEP Scale-up Launch: This new equity-only financing mechanism is bringing €300 million to the table, targeting scale-up funding for strategic EU deep-tech sectors. Companies can access equity rounds of €10–30 million, with a goal of leveraging 3-5 times larger funding rounds. 2️⃣ EIC Pathfinder: With €142 million dedicated to the Open call and €120 million across four challenges, this stream targets the foundational research needed to build breakthrough technologies. 3️⃣ EIC Transition: A budget of €98 million for the Open call supports projects advancing from proof of concept to market readiness. 4️⃣ EIC Accelerator: Offering €384 million for the Open call and €250 million for five targeted challenges, this programme is tailored for projects at TRL6, prioritizing sectors like health and future mobility to bring high-risk innovations to market. The European Innovation Council has announced a PRE-Accelerator call for hashtag #WIDERA countries as part of its 2025 work program. With a total budget of € 2️⃣ 0️⃣ million, this initiative aims to support early-stage deep tech startups from less-developed EU regions, enhancing their innovation competitiveness and preparing them for the EIC Accelerator or other investment opportunities. 🔑 Call details: 👉 Grants between €300,000 and €500,000 (covering up to 70% of project costs) 👉Duration: up to 2 years 👉Focus: technology development, market readiness, investor appeal 👉 Access to EIC Business Acceleration Services: mentoring, networking and investor matchmaking 📅 The call opens in May 2025, with a deadline for submission in November, 2025.
