Ad Council Prediabetes Awareness Campaign with Innovare Medical Media The Ad Council and Innovare partnered yet again to spread awareness on Type 2 Diabetes Prevention. These PSAs raise awareness of prediabetes to help people reverse prediabetes and prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. More than 1 in 3 American adults has prediabetes, putting them at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart attack, or stroke. Of people with prediabetes, 81 percent don’t know they have it. The good news is that by making lifestyle changes like managing weight, eating healthier, and increasing physical activity, prediabetes can often be reversed. This campaign was posted in over 120 hospital venues throughout the country. #HospitalAdvertising #DOOH #HospitalMarketing #HealthMarketing

Even though Type 2 Diabetes is most often preventable, and for some people even reversible, most patients do not even get the most basic counseling to help them. 😢 In fact, according to the CDC, it is estimated that more than 80% of Americans with prediabetes don’t even know that they have it. 😭 And without this basic knowledge, how can they be expected to prevent developing type 2 diabetes? Not only that, but even when prediabetes and type 2 diabetes are diagnosed, traditionally people are just prescribed medications to just MANAGE their blood sugars, rather than addressing the root cause of insulin resistance, with the goal of type 2 diabetes PREVENTION and REVERSAL, which we know may be possible! We can do so much better!!!! As a board certified physician, this is why I created my corporate and online programs. It is my mission to empower people of all demographics and education levels with the guidance, support, and tools to prevent and reverse disease, and live their best life! Helping employees transform their health is also good for business! Diabetes screening is now recommended for everyone 35 and older, even if no symptoms are present. The screening age was reduced because alerting individuals to their elevated blood sugar gives them the opportunity to reverse course. Also, a lower screening age is necessary to stem the rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes. These efforts are expected to help a lot of individuals adjust their lifestyles. A lot of individuals are prediabetic and unaware of their condition. More than 80% of all prediabetic adults are unaware their blood sugar is elevated.
