Innovation Franklin’s Post

New Zealand boasts a rich and diverse history of innovation, ranging from groundbreaking technology and engineering achievements to thrill-seeking inventions that have captivated the world. Among these is the iconic Zorb, a Kiwi creation that continues to deliver excitement and fun globally. It all began in 1994 with two Kiwi innovators, Andrew Akers and Dwane van der Sluis, who dreamed up the iconic giant inflatable ball. Originally designed for walking on water, it soon evolved into the thrill of rolling down hills. Andrew and his brother David turned the idea into a global sensation, manufacturing ZORB balls in Rotorua and exporting them worldwide. After years of innovation (and even creating the OGO ride), the Akers brothers brought the ZORB brand back home in 2019. Today, ZORB Rotorua continues to deliver unforgettable experiences on the original site where it all started. #NewZealand #Zorb #KiwiInnovation #MadeInNewZealand #CreativeKiwis
