Case Study: PCI for LAD Occlusion in a 72-Year-Old Male performed in Innvolution Cathlab. A 72-year-old male presented with an Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction (AWMI) and underwent thrombolysis. Despite this treatment, the patient continued to experience angina. The following day, angiography revealed a 100% occlusion in the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery, prompting a plan for Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) to the LAD. During pre-dilation, the balloon did not expand due to an eccentric calcium nodule, so a cutting balloon was used instead. Post-dilation angiography showed dissection, and the patient’s blood pressure dropped. The doctor promptly deployed a stent, followed by post-dilation with the balloon, successfully sealing the dissection. The final result was excellent, and the patient remained stable.
