Last week, our founder Paul Gaines shared his expertise on chemical compatibility and stability with our Production and Customs Development teams. He covered some fascinating aspects of our products, like how specific silicon concentrations can remain stable in water alone and the unique stability of silver in high concentrations of HCl. Thanks, Paul, for sharing the science that drives our work every day!🧪

OCTC President, Jenn Pieper-Klein, had the opportunity to join leaders from the Texas Chemistry Council WEST VIRGINIA MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION and Louisiana Chemical Association on a panel at the American Chemistry Council meeting this week. They discussed critical issues impacting the chemical industry in the states, including the policies shaping our sector and the partnerships needed to ensure a strong, sustainable future for American manufacturing. Working together, we can address these challenges head-on and continue driving progress. 🌎🔬🤝 #ChemistryMatters #IndustryLeadership #PolicyAndPartnership

We live in a fast world which makes it even more important to step back from time to time and reflect on the past - to remember the journey and celebrate successes. Did you know that before Change Chemistry became Change Chemistry, we were called GC3 and GC3 was founded way back in 2005? It was formed following the Innovators Roundtable on Sustainable Business and Safer Chemistry Through the Supply Chain, a meeting co-hosted by the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia Charlottesville. On the last day of the meeting, participants requested that the supply chain discussions that begun in Charlottesville be given an opportunity to continue, at which point the Lowell Center offered to facilitate these future conversations. What began as a series of regular conference calls to continue this dialog eventually grew into several working groups, each focused on projects of particular interest, an annual Innovators Roundtable conference to continue working group discussions in person, and an advisory committee to assist the Lowell Center with decision-making. And here we are, almost 20 years later with an expanding team spanning across 2 continents and over 110 members, working together to change chemistry one step at a time. Want to join the community? The next speaker we want to introduce is Dr. Raoul Meys. As managing director and co-founder of Carbon Minds, Meys focuses on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint analysis to evaluate and minimize the environmental impacts of chemical products and processes. He integrates sustainability into chemical engineering and promotes circular economy principles, aiming to reduce plastic production impacts and implement sustainable practices. His research contributions are widely published and reflect his dedication to advancing sustainable development in the chemical sector. We look forward to his talk on “Achieving net-zero chemicals and plastics with circular technologies - The role of electrochemistry.”

At our March Supply Chain Working Group meeting last week, we were delighted to have Anna Lennquist from ChemSec, Cassandra Zentner from actnano, Inc. and Jodi Connell from Target as our speakers. The conversations centred around #PFAS and challenges with phase-out and substitution across the value chain. Our three take-aways highlighted that when it comes to advancing towards sustainable chemistry, things are never black and white: 1. We need improved data transparency across value chains however the solutions need to be able to respect business confidentiality and IPs. 2. Legislation is the main driver for action but only when passed and effectively enforced 3. There is a lack of incentives to progress towards substitutes along the value chain, especially in the middle part. How can we collaborate to improve this? What are your insights on this topic? Let's keep the conversation going! If you want to know more about who we are and what we do, check out: https://lnkd.in/dZK7bRR9 #changemakers #sustainablechemistry #transparency #supplychain

It is amazing how changing a few % composition in the Material can increase the Seal life. Identifying the right material that can handle the demanding applications is a science in itself. Let's honor the Scientific geniuses who've shaped our world and inspire the world of Sealing technology. 🌟 #ScienceDay #Innovation #Discovery #NationalScienceDay #PGEIndustries
