ALTERNATE THERAPIES ARE EMERGING On November 14, the World Diabetes Day, NBI is committed to helping patients work with this condition and manage their lifestyles. TYPE 2 DIABETES – ALTERNATE APPROACHES Medical treatment for type 2 diabetes is limited to drugs that are slowly raising safety concerns or posing side effects. Lifestyle modifications can control and supplement the action of drugs to maintain ideal blood glucose levels. Phytonutrients are today’s preferred alternate option for treating several conditions. With minimal side effects and a better understanding of the mechanism of action of identified active molecules, the future may well depend on plant-based extracts for better health. #DiabetesAwarenessMonth #OralInsulin #InnovationInHealth #Diabetes #NBI #Biotech #HealthAwareness #Internationaldiabetesfederation #PlantBasedDrugs #DrugDeliveryTechnology #FunctionalNeurologicalDisordersSociety #ParkinsonsFoundation #WIPO #USPTO

Emerging PFAS linked to cholesterol imbalances: Study Highlights Emerging Health Concerns In a study of more than 300 middle-aged and elderly people in Beijing, researchers found that two specific PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), PFHxS and F53B, were associated with higher levels of "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and total cholesterol. Other PFAS, such as PFOA and PFDA, were linked to elevated triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood), while one compound, FOSAA, was associated with lower triglyceride levels. In summary, both traditional and emerging PFAS appear to contribute to unhealthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels, potentially increasing health risks. https://lnkd.in/dFCh5-fj In my opinion, while this study sheds light on emerging PFAS, the small sample size limits the ability to draw strong conclusions, especially regarding lesser-known PFAS. However, the findings for PFOS and PFOA are consistent with previous research and support their known health effects. #pfas #bioremediation #enzymes #health

Associate Professor Hayder Al-Aubaidy's research may, one day, provide an alternative to current pharmacological treatments for type 2 diabetes. “Around 40% of those with type 2 diabetes who are on monotherapy – a treatment using a single drug – still have difficulties controlling their blood sugar levels,” explains Associate Professor Al-Aubaidy. “To manage this, these individuals often require gliptins, a drug that improves insulin release and reduces glucose production.” Gliptins, however, are costly and come with side effects. And that's where citrus compounds come in. “We have discovered that, in addition to acting as antioxidants, the natural compounds found in citrus fruits decrease blood glucose levels in the same way that gliptins do,” Associate Professor Al-Aubaidy says. Further research will need to be done, but the ultimate goal, he says, is to "revolutionise the treatment landscape of type 2 diabetes.” Read more: https://bit.ly/3yNc3L7 #LaTrobeAgricultureBiomedicineAndEnvironment #LaTrobeUniversity #Diabetes

#Startinginsulin therapy early in the course of diabetes can help preserve beta cell function. Beta cells in the pancreas are responsible for producing insulin, and preserving their function can lead to better blood glucose control and potentially slow the progression of the disease. Early insulin intervention can reduce the stress on these cells by lowering blood glucose levels and reducing the demand for endogenous insulin production. This approach can be beneficial for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients, although the specific timing and strategy should be individualized based on the patient's condition and response to other treatments. #ASKYOURDOCTOR’S AND START IT EARLIER

Did you know that Glutathione plays a crucial role in Phase 2 detoxification? In the complex process of detoxification, the glutathione detoxification pathway plays a pivotal role, involving the enzymes of the gamma-glutamyl cycle and sulfur conjugation reactions. This pathway actively promotes the excretion of xenobiotics (foreign substances) and normal metabolites from the body. One key player in this process is Glutathione S-Transferases (GST's) - the enzymes responsible for binding glutathione to toxins and xenobiotics such as excess hormones, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, and environmental pollutants. By binding to these harmful substances, GST's prepare them for efficient excretion. But that's not all! The benefits of Glutathione go beyond detoxification. It also aids in reducing inflammation and inhibiting the triggering of genes 🧬 that these toxins bind to and stimulate. As healthcare professionals, understanding the importance of Glutathione in Phase 2 detoxification can greatly enhance our ability to support patients in achieving optimal health and well-being. By utilizing Glutathione in protocol, we can help patients effectively reach their health and wellness goals.💙 #HealthcareProfessionals #Detoxification #Glutathione #Wellness #OptimalHealth #Inflammation #Genes #Toxins #Xenobiotics #Supplementsthatwork #nothingbutpure #puregoodness #goodnessencapsulated #GSH #NAC #LiposomalGlutathione
