As a patient, transparency is critical for the healthcare industry. From Healthcare-acquired infection rates, to a surgeon's mistakes, to a Hospital's Safety Grade (https://lnkd.in/g3edBN5j) - it's time for a major shift. Transparency = Trust. Transparency establishes trust, which is a core element of any good patient-healthcare provider relationship. It builds a sense of respect and empowers patients to be active participants in their care. Every patient deserves to: ✔️ Understand healthcare information at their literacy level ✔️ Know their healthcare options and get a second opinion if they desire ✔️ The potential benefits and risks of each treatment option Doctors and healthcare providers can also benefit from transparency, considering it can improve physician-patient communication and increase patient satisfaction and outcomes. The future of healthcare must place transparency at its core. It's time for a change, and it's time for it now.
