Over time, the production of glass has evolved, resulting in various types tailored for different purposes, including architectural, automotive, and industrial uses. The process of making glass typically begins with melting raw materials in a furnace at high temperatures, usually around 1,700°C (3,092°F). Once melted, the liquid glass can be formed into sheets, containers, or other shapes through molding or blowing. The material can be cooled rapidly to create the desired properties such as transparency, strength, and durability. One of the most notable properties of glass is its transparency. This feature allows glass to be used in windows, eyeglasses, and even in scientific applications where visibility is crucial. It is also chemically resistant, non-porous, and highly durable, making it ideal for use in a wide range of products, from beverage bottles to electronics. The ability to recycle glass also contributes to its sustainability. Unlike plastic, glass can be melted and remade without losing its quality, making it an eco-friendly choice.
