We're hearing a lot about hydrogen's potential to help decarbonize the #industry. Commitment • Long-term Vision: Commitment is reflected in the establishment of long-term goals and roadmaps. For instance, national hydrogen strategies that outline milestones for the next few decades are essential for sustained progress. • Corporate Responsibility: Companies need to integrate hydrogen solutions into their sustainability strategies, committing to reducing their carbon footprints through the adoption of hydrogen technologies. The French NRA #CRE has published a report and recommandations on the future regulation for #hydrogen and #CO2 infrastructures. Let's move forward to develop the #infrastructures required for the energy transition!
Vers une régulation des infrastructures hydrogène Le récent rapport de la Commission de régulation de l'énergie met en évidence le besoin de définir un cadre de régulation stable et un mécanisme de soutien public permettant d’accompagner le déploiement des #infrastructures #hydrogène. La France doit mettre en œuvre ces recommandations sans attendre. C’est en effet maintenant ➡ qu’il faut pouvoir décider d’investir, à l’échelle, dans ces infrastructures, ➡ que nous pouvons encore rattraper le retard pris par rapport aux Etats-Unis notamment, mais aussi à d’autres pays européens comme l’Allemagne, ➡ que la France peut mettre en œuvre les conditions pour atteindre ses objectifs en matière de #décarbonation et de #réindustrialisation de son économie. ✅ Le #stockage souterrain d'hydrogène permet d’assurer la sécurité et la continuité d'approvisionnement des clients hydrogène. ✅ Il facilite l'intégration des énergies #renouvelables intermittentes à moindre coût. ✅ Il offre la #flexibilité nécessaire au système #électrique et optimise ainsi les investissements, tout en minimisant les congestions sur le réseau électrique. 🌡🌀🌱 Hydrogen: a future solution for greener mobility? Sure, if only its storage wasn't so complex (large volumes and very low temperatures)... Here comes the 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 International scientists from UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain, Aarhus University and the Max Planck Institute have found a way to make hydrogen storage easier, paving the way for large-scale utilization. This groundbreaking discovery has been published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Chemistry. Hydrogen, as the lightest chemical element, holds immense promise for eco-friendly transportation and stationary energy storage. However, its high density made storage complex, requiring either high pressure or extremely low temperatures. The scientists' breakthrough involves a porous form of magnesium borohydride capable of storing hydrogen at over twice the density of liquid hydrogen. This is achieved through innovative molecular interactions within the material's pores, resulting in highly efficient storage. This advancement opens doors for compact hydrogen storage and transportation, paving the way for clean and renewable energy solutions, including hydrogen-powered vehicles for example. Thanks to electronics, we live in a #DC world. Every device in a building has some type of printed circuit board and ti power that board is a transformer whose power is typically always on generating heat in the process of converting power. Modern #IT #networking technologies also have the ability carry power, and they do so safely. #POE can carry 90W and powers access points, cameras, desk telephones, access control devices, building sensors, POS terminals, Kiosks, and even building LED lighting. USB-C is certified to 240W and powers many personal devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and soon many other devices. Then there are new Fault Managed Power Systems for higher power distribution which prevent electrocution or fires. More commonly known #LVDC applications such as 48V, 24V, and 12V prevail through most buildings. And now there are a host of other IEC #LVDC higher power #DC systems such as those from the eMerge Alliance (380V) and new 600V and 800V applications led by Battery Energy Storage Systems, EV charging, and Industrial System applications. It’s time to wake up to #LVDC
