🆕 TV channel Groupe TF1 has released a news report on how #geothermal energy is taking over local authorities across France!🔥 📽 Watch & read here: https://lnkd.in/eB_q_yd8 It unveils that: 1️⃣ Geothermal energy is a cleaner and (much) cheaper alternative. 2️⃣ It is available everywhere and is changing the #energy landscape. 3️⃣ Because of its stability - accessible 24/7 and doesn't depend on the weather - it provides an uninterrupted energy supply. Despite its huge potential and minimal environmental impact, #GeothermalEnergy currently accounts for only 3% of energy production in France. The government aims to double this figure by 2030, an important step towards sustainable energy development. Time to accelerate the adoption of geothermal energy among other #renewableenergy sources! #GeothermalNOW

I had the pleasure of participating in the special program ‘Les Dossiers BFM Business’ in partnership and via live connection with CGTN in #Beijing, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of #diplomatic #cooperation between #France and #China. The program focused on the theme of #climate actions and #decarbonized energies, and it was a great honor to share the floor with Brice Lalonde, former French Minister of the Environment. My main messages were: ✅ Remarkable Growth in #WindPower Capacity Since I began my career in renewables in China in 2005, the total installed wind power capacity has multiplied by more than a thousand in less than twenty years. This exponantial growth can be attributed to both technical breakthroughs and political willingness. ✅Technological Advancements On the technical side, #windturbines have seen significant improvements with larger and larger #rotors for more efficient energy capture and higher towers to enable harnessing stronger winds at greater heights. A single modern wind turbine now has the capacity equivalent to an entire wind farm from the past. ✅Streamlined #Regulations in China In China, wind farms can be developed within just 12 months, from initial design to generating electrons. The regulatory environment has become more conducive to renewable energy projects. ✅Navigating the #ChineseMarket Doing business in China necessitates a deep understanding of the local market and its complex value chains. Building #partnerships with compatible local companies is crucial. Staying closely connected to the #government, which remains involved throughout the value chains, is essential. Thank you to Alexia Borg and the entire #BFMBusiness and #CGTN teams for the invitation and warm welcome! To watch the replay : https://lnkd.in/gxUB-f5P Alexia Borg Brice Lalonde Adnan Ezzarhouni

🎂 This week, we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the International Energy Agency (IEA)⚡ 💡Did you know? The #IEA was created in 1974 to help coordinate a collective response to major disruptions in the supply of oil. Today, the agency consists of 31 member countries and is at the heart of global dialogue on energy, providing authoritative analysis, data, and policy recommendations to help countries provide secure and sustainable energy for all. 📅 Every year, the IEA organises a Ministerial Meeting. This year is particular as a thousand of persons are awaited in #Paris for the anniversary, with special events and an Energy Innovation Forum. Among them, Ursula von der Leyen and Energy Commissioner @Kadri Simson who will both give a speech. 👇Find out more insights about the IEA and its Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol, in the article by Nicolas Rauline in Les Echos https://lnkd.in/epsZEfg7

🌍🔋 The Future of Energy: Embracing the Synergy of Gas and Electricity Networks 🔋🌍 In the journey towards a carbon-neutral Europe by 2050, the integration of gas and electricity networks plays a pivotal role. At GD4S, we believe that the future of energy lies in leveraging the strengths of both these infrastructures to create a resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy system. 🔄 Sector Coupling for a Greener Tomorrow: By coupling gas and electricity networks, we can maximize the use of renewable energy sources like wind and solar, ensuring a stable and secure energy supply even during peak demand periods. This integration supports the seamless flow of energy, optimizing consumption and reducing waste. 🌱 Empowering Renewable Gases: Gas distribution networks are crucial for transporting renewable gases such as biomethane and hydrogen. These networks not only facilitate local production and consumption but also offer a cost-effective solution for energy storage, balancing the intermittency of renewable electricity. 💡 Flexibility and Resilience: The underground gas infrastructure provides a reliable energy supply, resilient to extreme weather conditions exacerbated by climate change. This complements the electricity grid, offering an alternative pathway to meet energy demands and enhancing overall system reliability. 🔧 Optimizing Infrastructure Investments: Utilizing existing gas networks for renewable gas distribution can significantly reduce the need for extensive and costly upgrades to the electricity grid, making the energy transition more affordable for all Europeans. 🤝 Collaboration is Key: At GD4S, we are committed to fostering cooperation between gas and electricity sectors, policymakers, and local communities to unlock the full potential of an integrated energy system. Together, we can drive innovation, support renewable technologies, and achieve our shared decarbonisation goals. Join us in championing a future where gas and electricity networks work hand in hand to power a sustainable Europe! 🌍💡🔋 #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #GasAndElectricity #Decarbonisation #Innovation #GD4S #EnergyIntegration #GRDF
