As we celebrate Youth Month we take pride in our commitment to uplifting and empowering the youth of South Africa. Through strategic investments and targeted programmes, we are creating opportunities for young individuals to secure employment, gain valuable skills, and build a better future. We’ve allocated R126.6 million toward bursaries, training programmes, internships, and learnerships. These initiatives provide financial support and practical experience to deserving youth across various fields. Additionally, our R22 million investment in the Youth Employment Service (YES) directly contributes to training and developing youth from our host communities, fostering job readiness and sustainable employment opportunities. Furthermore, our 24-month mentoring programme involves 126 employees, 89% of whom are black individuals (with 58% being black women), nurturing talent, enhancing skills, and guiding young professionals toward successful careers. Our commitment to the young people of Africa and beyond extends beyond financial investments. We believe that by nurturing talent, fostering inclusivity, and providing opportunities, we contribute to a stronger, more prosperous South Africa. Youth Month is a reminder that the youth are our greatest asset, and their success is intertwined with our collective progress. Join us in celebrating the resilience, creativity, and determination of South African youth. Together, we build a brighter tomorrow! Dear Leading Girlfriend, Life Has No Guarantees Unless You - REMAIN FOCUSED! Focus is a universal effect, the more a thing you pay closer attention to, the more it magnifies. This is the challenge: find something worthwhile and apply the art of staying focused on it until the desired results come into being. It's that simple. Are there areas you would love to become better improved at, give it focus. Are there habits you would love to become good at, give it focus. Are there results you would love to command in the coming days, weeks or even years, sell yourself to the art of unbroken work-focus. Research has shown that it is easier to gravitate towards what you repeatedly give focus to. Focus is like a culture, a system of operations. This is how it works; if you don't keep up with the practice of learning how to stay focus, you are likely not going to achieve anything of significance anytime soon. How My Fraternity Built Me Into a Confident Speaker (And Why It Matters for the Next Generation) When you’re in college, the experience isn’t just about academics—it’s about designing who you are and who you’re becoming. For me, joining a fraternity was an opportunity to connect with a brotherhood of young men aspiring toward greatness. Despite the stereotypes you see in movies, fraternities are not just about parties. At their core, they are about service. One of the ways we served our campus community was through educational programming—mentorship workshops, sexual health discussions, poetry nights, career panels, and more. These events weren’t just organized; they were led by us. That meant I wasn’t just showing up—I was speaking. Sometimes twice a month, I found myself in front of my peers and community, sharing knowledge and facilitating discussions. I got the reps in. While many shy away from public speaking, I was sharpening a vital skill—one that continues to serve me today. Public speaking is transformative. It allows us to share stories, transfer knowledge, and inspire change. Yet, today’s youth are growing up as consumers rather than producers. They consume snacks, screen time, products, and ideas—but when do they produce the gifts they were born to share? There are two types of people in this world: 👉 Consumers. 👉 Producers. Producers are the innovators. They create what others consume. They shape the world. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or mentor, our next generation needs a reminder: They were born to produce something great. The world is waiting for it. Happy Founder’s Day to my brotherhood, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.! 🤙🏿 ⚫️🟡 If you’re ready to empower a young leader in your life, DM me to learn how.
