Sadly, too many girls are still being held back by outdated gender stereotypes. This year, our Girls‘ Aspirations Survey found that 25% of participants have been discouraged from pursuing certain careers, simply because they’re girls. At Inspiring Girls International, we’re changing that. Across 39 countries, we’re connecting girls with women role models across every field, opening doors to careers that have been ‘just for boys’ for too long. Let’s make sure every girl knows her ambitions matter, her abilities have no limits, and her future is hers to define 🙌

Today we're talking breaking gender barriers with Daniela Binatti and our critical job as role models. As a mother to two teenage daughters, Dani witnesses firsthand the transformative impact of positive role models in shaping their perceptions and aspirations. Reflecting on her own experience, Dani stresses the need for comprehensive support structures encompassing not only schools but also families. She advocates for a holistic approach to education that nurtures emotional intelligence and equips children with the skills to navigate complex social dynamics with confidence and resilience. "It's not just about mothers; it's about fathers and anyone involved in the family," Dani affirms. By fostering a culture of empathy, understanding, and emotional resilience, we empower our young girls to navigate the world with grace and fortitude, regardless of the obstacles they may encounter. As we near the end of Women's History Month, let's step up and commit ourselves to being the role models our future generations deserve. Together, let's dismantle gender barriers and create a world where every young girl can realize her full potential. #EmpoweringGirls #GenderEquality

Greetings my LinkedIn Community, I wish to share a message dear to my heart regarding the girl child: every girl and woman deserves to dream and be given the chance to pursue those dreams. From the moment a girl is born, she holds within her the potential to change the world. Yet, in my country and some parts of the globe, societal norms, economic barriers, and gender biases stifle her dreams before they even have a chance to flourish. This is not just a loss for her; it is a loss for all of us. Imagine the innovations not yet discovered, the stories left untold, and the leadership unfulfilled because we failed to nurture her dreams. Empowerment begins with belief. We must believe in the inherent worth and capability of every girl and woman. It is our responsibility to create environments where they can imagine and achieve without fear of discrimination or limitation. Education is a crucial part of this journey. When we educate a girl, we do more than fill her mind with knowledge; we give her the tools to build her own path and the confidence to walk it. But education alone is not enough. We must ensure that our support continues beyond the classroom. Girls and women need mentors who inspire and guide, safe spaces where their voices are heard and respected, and equal opportunities to compete in all spheres of life. They need to see examples of women who have broken barriers and defied odds, proving that dreams are not confined by gender. Every girl should know that her dreams are valid and attainable. Every woman should feel empowered to pursue her aspirations, no matter her age or background. When we invest in the dreams of girls and women, we invest in a brighter, more equitable future for all. Let's champion policies that promote gender equality, support initiatives that provide resources and opportunities for women, and most importantly, let's be advocates in our daily lives. Encourage the dreams of the women and girls around you. Celebrate their successes and stand by them in their struggles. If we team up, we can create a world where every girl and woman not only dares to dream but has the chance to make those dreams a reality. Cheers! Rahel Randy

Empowering Girls for a Bright Future 🌟 I am deeply passionate about addressing a critical issue that continues to haunt our society: the dream gap inadvertently or purposefully created against girls. As a dedicated professional in the field of psychology, I am driven to shed light on this matter and advocate for change. The dream gap refers to the profound disparity between the aspirations and achievements of girls compared to their male counterparts. It is a disheartening reality perpetuated by societal norms, biases, and systemic barriers that hinder girls' progress from an early age. As professionals, it is our responsibility to recognize and address this issue head-on. It truly saddens me to witness the immense potential of girls restrained, their dreams left unfulfilled, and their talents overlooked due to the limitations imposed upon them by society. Whether through subtle messages conveyed by the media, reinforced stereotypes, or biased expectations, the dream gap insidiously erodes girls' self-belief and restricts their horizons. I have seen girls with much potentials wallow in their gender-stereotypes and barely believe they can excel. I was particularly raised in a environment that was enabling career-wise. My mother always pointed that out dreams (both as boys and girls) were valid. I grew up with this mindset and it has become a strong point and part of me. Consequently, as professionals, we possess the power to effect change. By coming together and taking concerted action, we can dismantle the barriers obstructing girls' progress. We need to embark on a transformative journey to bridge the dream gap. In other to do this, we need to embrace the following: 1️⃣ Education and Awareness: We can do this by challenging existing norms, break stereotypes, and foster a more inclusive mindset. 2️⃣ Mentorship and Role Models: We can share our experiences, expertise, and unwavering support for the girl-child. We can also instill confidence, broaden their aspirations, and help them navigate the challenges they may encounter. 3️⃣ Advocacy for Equal Opportunities: We could promote gender equality in education, employment, and leadership positions. There is also the need to address systemic biases, dismantle barriers, and ensure equal access to resources, by so doing, we can create a level playing field where girls can thrive and pursue their dreams without limitations. Empowering girls translates to empowering the future. #BridgingTheDreamGap #EmpoweringGirls #InclusionMatters #DreamGap

Couldn’t agree more! “Despite a shortage of skills in most of the technological fields driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution, women still account for only 28% of engineering graduates and 40% of graduates in computer science and informatics. The digital transformation is led by men. Women constitute only 26% of employees in data and artificial intelligence, 15% in engineering, and 12% in cloud computing across the world's leading economies. A lack of women in the technology workforce is an economic loss to society. Doubling the share of women in the tech workforce by 2027 could boost GDP by EUR 600 billion.” ~ Gender Report, Technology on Her Terms, UNESCO #womeninSTEM
There is still a STEM gap. ♀️ Only just over a quarter of the people working in STEM in the UK are female. Young women need to be constantly reminded of their worth to show them that they're wanted at the table. Take it away, Mission Operations Lead at Palantir Technologies, Kellie! 😎🚀 #Sexism #Career International Women's Day 2024

Empowering Young Girls: Closing the Dream Gap The Dream Gap highlights the disparity between the ambitions of young girls and their true potential. This gap isn't about ability—it's about the societal norms and biases that start shaping their dreams from an early age. This issue is especially pronounced in developing regions, where traditional gender roles and limited resources further hinder girls from reaching their potential. The Barbie Dream Gap Project is working to address this by challenging gender stereotypes and breaking down these barriers. While this initiative is crucial in sparking awareness, it's clear that a broader collective effort is needed, particularly in third-world countries. Each of us plays a vital role in bridging this gap for future generations—by boosting their confidence, recognizing their talents, and supporting them as both dreamers and achievers. Let's join forces to build a future where every girl, no matter where she’s born, has the opportunity to realize her full potential. I am deeply concerned about the current trend in our society, even in the most advanced countries, where we interpret many social challenges exclusively through the lens of gender. This is often exacerbated by videos and propaganda campaigns that place individuals in victim roles fighting against a so-called great patriarchy. This kind of rhetoric only serves to further divide and obscure the real issues. The fundamental problem is not gender itself, but rather the education each person receives, whether in their family or school environment. It is crucial to recognize that, although different, men and women possess distinct and complementary capabilities. This diversity should be a driving force to teach our children to maximize their potential, based on their own skills, without gender-based restrictions. Making videos that victimize or fight against abstract structures leads us nowhere. Instead, we must strive for an education that values critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and creativity. By accepting and integrating our natural differences, we will provide future generations with the tools they need to succeed and innovate in a balanced and resilient world. It is time to rethink our approaches and focus on educational solutions that build rather than divide. Only such reform will allow us to realize the full potential of every individual, regardless of their gender.

Ageism is a deadly career killer MOST prevalent in women under 30 And of course, it affects women more then men. Reports show that: → Young men are most likely to be promoted for potential. → While young women are promoted for what they've already achieved. (And that's in a generation that some dare say has reached equality.) Seriously... as if STEM isn't struggling enough with gender inequality. We're adding ageism into the mix? I'm talking about: → Companies asking for 10 years experience in a grad role. → Avoiding hiring young women who "may have a baby soon". → Delayed opportunities, with promotions based on tenure, not skill. And it has to stop. Stand up for yourself. Know what you're bringing to the table. I'm here to help. _______________ Women under 30 in STEM 👇 This is one of the toughest stages of your career, and so I'm offering 3 months of coaching - for FREE - to give you a head start. When you're ready to take real action, you know where I am.

As we celebrate this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, let's not forget the devastating impact of climate change on girls worldwide. From intensified natural disasters to disruptions in education and access to resources, climate change disproportionately affects girls and women. We must prioritize climate action and invest in girls' resilience. By empowering girls with education, skills, and leadership opportunities, we can build a more equitable and sustainable future for all. Yet, there are still many challenges that girls face, such as lack of access to education, child marriage, and gender-based violence. To address these issues, we must invest in girls' education, promote gender equality, and protect their rights. When we invest in girls, we're not just investing in their futures we are investing in a better future for all of us. A world where 1.1 billion girls have the chance to grow, learn, lead, and develop stronger communities, more resilient economies, and a more equitable society. But while their vision is bold, they cannot achieve it alone. It's up to us parents, educators, policymakers, community leaders, and allies to stand beside them, listen to their needs, and give them the support they deserve. The evidence is clear: when girls lead, we all succeed. Their leadership makes immediate, lasting change, from healthier families to more empowered communities. And the best part? They want a future of hope, equality, and opportunity for everyone. It's time to take urgent action. The future is calling, and girls are showing us the way. Investing in girls and giving them the support and tools they need we are not just empowering them; we're securing our future. Together, we can create a world where every girl's rights are fully realized. When girls succeed, we all succeed. It's time to support them because when they reach their goals, we move closer to achieving the Global Goals. So, let's work together to address the intersection of gender and climate change. Let's support them in achieving their dreams and create a world where every girl can step confidently into her future Together, we can turn their vision into reality. Happy International Day of the Girl Child!....... #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild #ClimateJustice #GenderEquality #EmpoweredGirls #FutureLeaders

🌟 Bridging the Dream Gap: Empowering the Next Generation 🌟 As we celebrate the successes of countless women in various fields, it's essential to recognize an ongoing challenge: the Dream Gap. This term refers to the phenomenon where young girls, around the age of 5, start to doubt their potential and begin to believe that boys are smarter and more capable. This self-doubt can have long-lasting effects, limiting their aspirations and career choices. But here's the good news: we can change this narrative. Here's how: ⭐ Representation Matters: Highlighting female role models in diverse fields is crucial. When girls see women excelling in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), they start believing they can do it too. ⭐ Encourage Curiosity and Confidence: Support girls' interests in all subjects from a young age. Encourage them to ask questions, explore, and experiment without fear of failure. ⭐ Challenge Stereotypes: Actively combat gender stereotypes in media, toys, and education. Promote stories and activities that showcase equality and challenge traditional gender roles. ⭐ Mentorship and Support: Provide mentorship opportunities for young girls to connect with female professionals. These relationships can offer guidance, inspiration, and the confidence to pursue their dreams. ⭐ Education and Advocacy: Educate parents, teachers, and communities about the Dream Gap. Awareness is the first step toward meaningful change. Together, we can create an environment where every girl believes in her potential and has the support to reach for the stars. Let's commit to bridging the Dream Gap and building a future where all dreams are possible. 💪✨ #DreamGap #WomenInSTEM #Empowerment #Mentorship #GenderEquality #governmentofindia #womenempowerment
