I visited El Hussein area today. My comments 1. seems to be much improved than my perception but we are VERY VERY far away from having a "wonderful touristic experience". Why? 2. Restaurants: good quality ones are not there 3. toilets: mashoftesh! 4. variety of products: available but could be improved 5. seating area: not available...u have to keep walking 6. zebala fil ard: clean streets in the middle but some "zebala" in some main streets How many people do you expect they visit Khan El Khalili per day? My estimate is that something like 10-20K people were available in the Hussein Mosque and around it. Maybe more Allah a3lam! RoET (Return over Egyptian Talents) is a metric that i suggest to be used to try to bring the best Egyptian talent to develop these super powered locations with full of potential.

Since ancient times, Arabian trade routes have connected worlds. From the southern oases of the Arabian Peninsula to trading hubs like Mecca, Medina, and Damascus, caravans carried not just spices, incense, and gold—they transported ideas, beliefs, stories, and cultures.🗺⏳️ These routes facilitated the spread of language, art, and science, with places like Petra and Palmyra serving as key cultural exchange points. For instance, the famous Incense Route stretched from present-day Oman, through Yemen and Saudi Arabia, all the way to the Levant and the Mediterranean, carrying precious resins that were highly sought after across the ancient world.📜🧭 The caravans were not limited to luxury items, they also transported textiles, silks, precious stones, ceramics, and metals such as copper and iron. Beyond material goods, caravans were conduits for knowledge: medical texts, philosophical writings, and mathematical theories traveled alongside merchants Did you know that caravans often included up to 1,000 camels and could traverse more than 4,000 kilometers across harsh desert terrain, facing challenges such as scorching heat, shifting sands, and water scarcity?🐫 Legends tell of skilled caravan guides known as "rahhalah" ar. رحالة who could navigate by stars and sand patterns. One story is of a trader named Malik who led his caravan so precisely during a severe storm, when he used the moon’s shadow and the scent of incense in the air to guide his caravan to safety.✨️ Today, many of the cities along those paths have grown into major cultural centers, and their spirit of exploration continues to inspire generations.🌎 #ancienttime #arabiantrade #ancientroads #arabicculture

In Oman, family comes before all else. People place great value on the time they spend at home, and in relaxing and socializing with friends. Their gentle pace of life contrasts greatly with life in the West and it is reflected in the way they conduct business, too. Traditional Arabic culture coexists cheerfully here with all the trappings of modern life; flashing neon signs line city streets and luxurious cars are a common site, yet the call to prayer is heard on every corner, and national dress is worn throughout the country. Oman’s coastal cities have always been outwardlooking, their fleets trading goods and ideas with Mesopotamia, Persia, India, and Africa. Because of its great wealth and strategic position, throughout its history this country has been coveted and conquered by a succession of empires, each leaving its own unique mark, and from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries it ruled an East African empire of its own that included the island of Zanzibar. In the more rural areas Omani life continues much as it has always done. Agriculture plays an important role in the economy, alongside the new industries associated with the oil and gas that were discovered in the 1960s. Today, Omanis are employed in all sectors of the economy. Discover more about this fascinating country in the new edition of Culture Smart! Oman.
