Dr. Gilbert Tang and Dr. Annapoorna Kini share insights on their research into whether valve choice or technology impacts clinical outcomes. “The interesting thing here is that there was a mortality difference, with a lower risk of death with the Resilia platform,” said Dr. Tang. “There were no differences in the risk of stroke. People might ask why, particularly since there was no difference in cardiac mortality. We attribute this to differences in paravalvular leak.” https://lnkd.in/eDGgatNX

Men's Health Awareness Month is observed every June to raise awareness about men's health issues and encourage men to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. During this month, various organizations and health professionals conduct research to identify the most prevalent health problems that affect men, such as heart disease, prostate cancer, and depression. Through education and advocacy, Men's Health Awareness Month aims to promote early detection, prevention, and treatment of these health issues, and empower men to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. ICA completed a systematic review of the comparative effectiveness and safety of radical prostatectomy performed using robot assisted laparoscopic surgery versus non-robot assisted laparoscopic surgery versus open surgery, for patients 35 years or older with treatment-naïve prostate cancer. One of the main outcomes of interest is how the various surgical techniques impact overall survival. This research aligns with ICA’s vision to break down data barriers and enable perceptive, timely and accurate information-driven decision-making on matters that most impact our lives and livelihood. #Menshealthmatters
